Yeah. Great shout. Let’s get shut of our top assister and part of a defence that’s played phenomenally well.

Thought he looked a bit iffy yesterday and definitely at fault for at least one of the goals - easily the first one we conceded. I guess competition is good.

Might have been partly at fault for the first goal. But has been very solid in general and was outstanding last week.

Pieters earned the shirt with a good start, but apart from the assist, he looked a weak link down that side yesterday. I would probably give him another chance, but would have Taylor on the bench ready, just in case.

At fault for 4 of the 9 goals we've conceded. He looks a brilliant signing as a back up and like Bardsley have no worries about calling on him if needed but Id have Taylor in.

One thing I would say is Taylor still has his weaknesses at this level but has age on his side and was getting better all the time as last season progressed

It’s funny how the great man works. I mean he brings in players and they stay in if they continue to improve and are good enough for our improved team. He always talks about small improvement steps.

Taylor looks like he’s been upgraded even having himself improved. This tells me he still needs to improve as our team has got better. There’s only so far you can improve if you are not ultimately good enough.

Pieters was a cheap buy to improve our goal output so I suspect Dyche will be looking for a new left back within the next year or so if we are to keep progressing. It looks like he thinks Taylor is either worse or no better than Pieters and I agree.

Yes he has so far but thats not why we signed him. We signed him because we needed a second left sided defender.

I wouldn't bother, the restraining order Charlie Taylor has taken out against Hibsclaret means he's unable to attend matches, as he's not allowed within a 3 mile radius.

Fu3king nutcase.

I disagree but thats a matter of opinion (I cant remember anyone in the summer saying we needed a better left back than Taylor in fact pretty much everyone said we need some back up and competition)

That aside, the post I said was nonsense was you saying Dyche signed him to improve out goal output which is b*llox

How would you know?

Dyche probably wanted more than 1 assist per season from his left back and he’s achieved it. Just because you and your cronies didn’t think we needed an upgrade the great man did....for whatever reason..

Funny how he took the shirt immediately. Very unlike a new signing for Dyche I would say

Gibson can’t get a sniff
Vydra cant get a sniff
Etc etc

There must be a reason that the ones in the team are better. The opposite could be true at left back

Taylor replaced Ward.

You need to make small improvements in the team each season. We started off defensive a few years ago and Ward was a great defender. Over the last few seasons we are starting to work on different formations and to improve the goal output. Taylor was tried and I think Dyche thinks he isn’t to the standard required for the next level

Different formations like 442?

And what does signing a backup defender due to Ward leaving, then getting his chance due to Taylor's injury make you come to the conclusion that Dyche doesn't rate Taylor?

To say all the Stoke fans said Pieters was very limited going forward but a solid no frills defender, it's been a bit different so far.

Taylor was one of our best performers last season. He was improving with each game too and he seemed to have built up a great understanding with McNeil. The amount of times we would have both hugging the touchline running at the opposition really gave us a new dimension. Whereas this season it seems Pieters gets so far and McNeil tucks into central midfield. This is possibly to give us a little more protection if the opposition break. Pieters crossing does seem better than Taylors but I think he is given time to get his crosses in as teams are expecting us to use McNeil as our main outlet and covering his run meaning Pieters has that little bit more time. It is working at the moment but for me Taylor and McNeil perform better than Pieters and McNeil. On a sidenote in our back 4 I think Taylor is the better fit. It took a while but he really seemed to build up an understanding with Mee ehich Pieters doesnt have as yet

Really...the next level is the same as this level?

You can tell with how we performed at the Emirates and Wolves that we are better this year than last. We have not controlled games like that in previous seasons. It stands to reason that it is harder to get into our team when we have improved. As I say not many of the other positions have been improved upon because the current players have improved to the required standard.

We don’t know if Taylor has improved because he can’t get picked for whatever reason

Dyche will never ever change a winning /drawing team unless his hand is forced with injury etc. I remember it took Lowton ages to get the shirt back from Derek and it’s a similar deal with Pieters . He’s doing ok ,but some on here seem to think he’s bombing down the wing like a young George Best .Taylor will get his chance

I’m liking the analogy. Not as good as my Maldini one mind....I mean at least Maldini was a left back...work in progress I would suggest

It's absolutely criminal that Taylor has been getting overlooked in favour of Pieters.

It’s almost like Taylor is the new signing and Pieters is the established fullback who has been here for over two years and was one of our best players last season.

I don’t get it. The second Pieters went down injured against Everton, that should’ve been it.
