Been an awful day here. We were going to head out to the bypass near Otley, just a short walk from the house, but the weather was just terrible. We’ve watched it on the box. Was hoping for a Sagan sprint but fear he might not be able to bridge the gap. 48 seconds away with one lap left.

Well done to Mads Pederson. Never seen pro riders look so spent after a race. That was tough going today.

Had planned to go Butter Tubbs, when that was pulled I decided to sit and watch in the dry living room. Shame 2 climbs were pulled, but still a good days cycling in very challenging conditions.

I came over and we ended up watching most of it in a bar with loads of Dutch and Belgian fans. Half of them were no a happy lot when MvdP blew up!
