Let's hope so,Maddison is a big miss for the Foxes, but they should still have enough to best the Geordies.

Cut through the Newcastle defence like they weren't there.

Haydn red card. Played the ball but followed through high.

Easy decision for the ref there, don't need VAR to call that red card.

Re: Leicester v Newcastle
He clearly gets the ball first.
I don't get this train of thought you can deliberately control your follow through to hurt an opponent.
But the rules have changed and going in for any tackle has the potential for a red card.

Very similar tackle to one on our player a few games ago VAR no red card. Think it was Barnes.

Totally know what you mean but he is only commenting on the rules as they stand now and he was correct in saying it was a red. Obviously, back in his day, with todays rules, he would have never lasted 90 minutesCirrus_Minor wrote:Souness of all people lecturing about dangerous tackles.

Re: Leicester v Newcastle
You see this is the problem. That was the most tied on red card tackle yet people have different views... If VAR comes down to an opinion then what is the point.may as well stick with the on field refs decision.

Clearly won the ball and his follow thru had to make contact. Did not look a deliberate attempt to injure the opponent. Hayden was just quicker and more committed. No red for me. Not even a free kick. If he didn’t win the ball then yes straight ref

Re: Leicester v Newcastle
whats this love-in with the Newcastle (best in the country) supporters?
Alan Green (he who should be muted) has just said '...to be fair to them - no seems to have left yet...'
albeit down to 10 men they're only one-nil down!

Re: Leicester v Newcastle
But you have to be in control of your tackle whether you win the ball or not? He clearly wasn't as you can see when his studs follow through and bend his leg on impact. It could quite easily have broken his leg and that's why those challenges aren't allowed anymore. Red all day long for me.FCBurnley wrote:Clearly won the ball and his follow thru had to make contact. Re: Leicester v Newcastle
Totally agree John. Leicester look brilliant going forward with so much pace, they are going to have a great season. I know it's early in the season but I think Newcastle will finish bottom 3. If Leicester keep going at them this will end up 5 or 6 nil easily.jdrobbo wrote:Leicester excellent - possibly top five or even four material.

Clear red for me. You cannot go in like that now. Just not relevant whether he won the ball or not.FCBurnley wrote:Clearly won the ball and his follow thru had to make contact. Apart from the late 5th goal the last 25 minutes was just Leicester routinely playing keep ball
