It was enjoying the subtle differences in thread title.

Low grammar, dispassionate - "Peter Sissons dead"

Dispassionate, with better grammar - "Peter Sissons IS dead"

Better grammar, with euphemism - "Peter Sissons has passed away"

Excellent broadcaster and journalist. Straight talking, honest and unbiased. Another of what I refer to as ' the old guard' to leave us. RIP Peter Sissons.

Was Peter any relation to Johnny Sissons?

John Sissons, now there's a blast from the past. Made his name in the 1964 cup run and his equaliser against Burnley in the quarter final helped set up West Ham for their eventual 3-2 win. Interestingly West Ham played the same XI players in each of their cup matches that year, all were English and seven of the player's surnames began with B.
I shall get my anorak.
No relation to Peter.

Just trying to remember the 'B's' in West Ham's team off the top of my head. Bond.Burkett Brown Bovington, BrabrookBoyce. The 7th one eludes me.
Edit; Just come to me and it was centre forward Johnny Byrne.

Danny Baker has just retweeted a junior school photo of Peter Sissons, Jimmy Tarbuck and John Lennon together in the sea on a school trip to the Isle of Man.
