Sexism in sport
This is getting ludicrous now.
BBC have Gabby Logan, Denise Lewis, Jessica Ennis and a black lady I can’t name dominating the athletics.
Soccer special goes to the grounds and more often than not it’s a female reporter.
ITV have a woman pitch side at the rugby world cup.
I am not doubting their ability or knowledge but the swing from male to female has just gone to far. Where it was sexist keeping women away from the mike it’s now sexist keeping men away because they are not eye candy.
RANT OVER.

Wow somebody's feeling a little insecure about Women taking over their "mans world" aren't they?
Best not to tell him they are also running big businesses nowadays too rather than being housewives, secretaries or nurses (and certainly don't mention male ones!)

Re: Sexism in sport
There's been a lady "binman" amongst my refuse collectors lately. She seems well able to chuck the bins about at the required rate but I did have to look twice when I first saw her because Ive lived in a lot of places and had a lot of binmen over the years but that's the first female Ive seen doing this job.
They're getting everywhere I tell you.

As long as Garth Crooks, Chris Sutton and Darren Gough are earning a living at that game, I think we can assume the ladies aren't the most egregious example of, "How the hell is that happening?"Tricky Trevor wrote:This is getting ludicrous now.

Re: Sexism in sport
Have you ever searched online for the definition of a woman? Besom, piece, bit, bitch, mare, baggage, wench, petticoat, frail, bird, bint, biddy, filly… These are the words which the Oxford online dictionary tell us mean the same as ‘woman’. These definitions show an appalling level of sexism that is totally unacceptable in today’s society. It must change.

I'm guessing that the ladies on the athletics programme know more about our rather good current female athletes, and their opinions make better TV because of that.

There is a long way for women to go. I haven't heard a woman commentating during a horse race (only presenting and doing after race interviews) nor commentating on mens heavyweight boxing.

Re: Sexism in sport
there needs to e more sexism in sport if what is served up thesedays is anything to go by.
some great presenters like kelly cates, before she sold her soul to sky, but usually they are squawking imbeciles who clued themselves up on cliches before broadcasting.
it was all a plot to foist these career minded nobodies on a gullible public who were told they needed diversity. what a load of old b******s.
now every sports programme has some jill of all trades trying to sound knowledgable when they aren't. cringeworthy stuff.

The three on Jeff Stelling's programme are fine but most on the BBC Final Score are too shrill for me. They know their stuff and report well - it just offends my ears.
I have to say though that there is one woman presenter on BBC News I can' stand - Carrie Gracie. It's not her voice, it's here apparent smugness. I turn it off when she's on.
