Superleague

Post by conyoviejo » Fri Oct 04, 2019 10:03 pm

Superb performance from Salford puts them into the final next week.. The Warriors were second best in every department.. No complaints from me and I wish Salford all the best against a rampant Stains team next Saturday at Old Trafford.. 8-)

My ex wife and my (eldest) son have been season ticket holders at Salford through thin and thinner and in the wife's case that goes all the way back to the days of The Willows in the 70's and 80's. She was brought up on the street immediately adjacent to the old ground and tbh I'm absolutely made up for them, as after everything they've put up with over the years, this must feel bloody unreal!

Went a handful of times to The Willows in the early 90’s with my older brother. Fantastic performances in the last two games and deservedly in the final.

I hope so too, but my fear is that it's bridge too far. Saints are way stronger than any other team in the league and it could end up VERY one sided, but tbh I feared that this evening and Salford's bubble seems to be still well and truly inflated and intact!! So here's hoping.
Only the 8th different team to appear in the grand final in 21 years I believe. Some stat that.

Absolutely magic by the Red Devil’s. Supported Salford since 1990. Will certainly be getting up early (Melbourne) to watch this!!

The mighty reds are rising!!

Great achievement. Sad thing is the team will be broken up this winter

As a saints fan I fear Salford more than Wigan.
A final against wigan would have been one sided whereas I see a tight game against Salford.

Fair play and well done salford though

Unfortunately that’s how Salford have had to survive with crowds of about 3-4,000. Bit like Burnley in the 70’s. I think some might rue their decisions to leave. But you can’t take away from this team. They’ve made the GF.

It’s going to be a case of the underdog, and very much so. But you never know. Come on you Reds.

Old fashioned rugby league from Salford, tackle hard, complete your sets and kick the penalties. An excellent performance, Wigan were never at the races.

Performance of the season from Salford,to go to the DW and not just beat the Warriors but humble them in their own backyard,it's good for the game that a new side have made the GF,but you can't see them troubling Saints they're playing at a different level to the rest.

The strange downside to it all that they will have to rebuild a new team after the final!
