England v Pumas
How good to see officials run games so well. Micing up refs and the var refs is wonderful. So much better than the football farce.

Agreed Nigel Owens is an excellent ref, nothing as good as him in the PL. The Argies are up for it this morning!

You mean something that has been around 20 years longer is better than something just starting out? Give Oversummitclaret wrote:How good to see officials run games so well. Micing up refs and the var refs is wonderful. So much better than the football farce.

Farrell's kicking has been poor today so far.
Not a classic, but it will do.

Football won’t improve as long as the Refs association treat them as mini gods and refuse to accept they are wrong. Miked up refs and post-match interviews would be a massive start.summitclaret wrote:So why has football taken so long to improve ?

Re: England v Pumas
Correct decision but it's a shame for the game that it's not 15 v 15. Think it would've been a close one. That said, definite win now and we can rest a few in the 2nd half
Re: England v Pumas
It’s only been in the PL for 2 months.summitclaret wrote:So why has football taken so long to improve ?
Offside goals have been sorted already. But people are whinging about a player only being 2mm offside.
Tbh. Football fans are too biased to understand anything that goes against his or her team.

Quite ironic with our Nigel saying 'Less talk and more scrummaging, please' when he was the one doing all the yapping.
He does like to talk.
He does like to talk.

Thats the area it needs clearing up...summitclaret wrote:What like the non pen re Norwich on Barnes?
I can understand the offsides there has to be a cut off point so "millimetres" has to be it or we ould argue is it a toe or a foot or a nose....
But the not overturning a Refs miss of a clear and obvious penalty sticks in my craw...
Why is there not a screen pitchside, where the onfield Ref could consult and (perhaps then be man enough) realise he was wrong and award the penalty (or not as the case may be....).
Rugby, Cricket and Tennis officials overturn their own decisions after seeing it on a screen.....

You can't have mic'd refs in football, in rugby there's actually respect from the players for what the ref is saying.Tricky Trevor wrote:Football won’t improve as long as the Refs association treat them as mini gods and refuse to accept they are wrong. Re: England v Pumas
Convincing win as expected against 14,hard to judge this England side yet, they've not been tested thus far, hope the injuries aren't serious we'll need everyone fit and firing for a likely QF versus the Aussies.
Definite sending off the South American nations can''t maintain their discipline, that said England had a couple of questionable tackles which could have been punished more severely, also handling errors must be minimised the Australians will punish any mistakes ruthlessly.
In summary job done but improvement required, the French game will answer some questions.

France have been poor for years now haven't they ?
Re: England v Pumas
Why oh why when we have an extra man do we persist in kicking the ball to the opposition?

Miked up refs in football, are you taking the pee?
They tried that 30 years ago and put a stop to it because of the potty mouthed players and staff!

Re: England v Pumas
The sending off meant game over really , still getting closer to the quarters when the real games come into their own .

Can’t believe Farrell ends the game after that tackle. Probably could have affected him on certainly the first kick he missed....
