Leaving aside any PL clubs there will undoubtedly be big city Championship clubs who can offer him a good deal. (We've been outbid by Championship clubs before). We will need to offer him a decent deal, otherwise he'll go elsewhere I'm certain.Colburn_Claret wrote: We would be daft to let Jeff go, but I'm not concerned. I dont think there will be better offers out there, Burnley players do tend to go under the radar.

There's little chance he'd go to a championship club unless they are pretty much guaranteed promotion or he's not playing enough for us.nil_desperandum wrote:Leaving aside any PL clubs there will undoubtedly be big city Championship clubs who can offer him a good deal. Re: Hendrick goal
Why would he want to drop into the championship.
Our wages arent that bad, and our bonuses are some of the best. He also sounds as though he is loving it still at Burnley.
Hes going nowhere.

Re: Hendrick goal
Although I don't majorly disagree with this, my point really was that we will have to make him an improved deal. It would be highly unusual for any professional footballer, (and especially his agent) to turn down a long contract, with guaranteed game time on a higher wage even if it involved dropping a division. That's just basic business. [His international ROI place would not be in jeopardy if he went to e.g. Newcastle - were they to be relegated.]Colburn_Claret wrote:Why would he want to drop into the championship.

Nah, he blocked off Keane and a lump of wood called Schneiderlin.randomclaret2 wrote:Special word for Tarky...blocked off 2 defenders at once
It was a great move though, as was Wood against Norwich. Remember when we never scored from corners.....
Re: Hendrick goal
New contract has been earned. Can’t allow him to go for free next summer.
