SD learning

Post by Tricky Trevor » Sat Oct 05, 2019 6:17 pm

It’s been a pleasure to watch SD learn and then adapt/coach the side over the years but already this season there have been two massive improvements. A couple of weeks ago it was how comfortably we saw out the last 10minutes, using the corners and passing so much better. Today it was the counter-attacking. JRod was a big influence in this with his extra pace and on the ball ability over Barnes/Wood. Just need to work on the final ball or we could have bagged 3 or 4.

We created a few very good chances. Got Pickford into a action a couple of times and some great chances missed the target, but we just seem to have continued from where left off after the second half of last season. I'll personally be very happy if we keep this up for the remainder of the season, but it's a long way to go.

I'm just very concerned how we cope with Champions League football next season. It's a real worry.

Even simple things like retaining possession from throw ins has made a noticeable difference.

For a long time I never used to get excited at set pieces. There was fat chance we were ever going to score from a corner so I didn't get overly excited when we won one.

Right now there's a chance we could score from every corner or set piece and I'm loving it

Show me a manager that stops learning, and I'll show you a picture of Marco Silva.
