Time for fans to enjoy the season
During the summer, there were a lot of negative fans posting on this forum re poor signings and this being the season we would go down.
They’ve thankfully gone rather silent.
To them I say, enjoy the season. Yes, there will be losses to come but for heavens sake don’t pile additional pressures on manager, players and owners/board.
So many times during the last few days, I’ve heard top players & managers say “It’s hard playing at Burnley!”
I suspect we will finish the season in the top half. (But I was saying that in the summer)
Yes, it’s early days and many matches ahead but enjoy the ride!
UTC!

Re: Time for fans to enjoy the season
Always the first goal is to beat Derby’s record, job done.
The next is for me to get above above 20 by Xmas.
This year I honestly think it’s Liverpool’s title, with city coming second.
After that anyone could be 3rd, 4th etc.
The other top clubs seem to have imploded so far this season.
I know it’s early days but think this is a strange season which could see a couple of unexpected clubs in the champions league.
Not saying it will be us by the way.

I’ll damn well enjoy this season when they lower the price of a twix.

Re: Time for fans to enjoy the season
I agree with the OP but before we go over the top we have played the sides currently:
1st(lost),6th(lost), 13th(drew),14th(drew),15th(drew), 16th(won),17th(won),18th(won).
The last 3 all at home. Good start but to early for celebrating.

Nobody is saying start celebrating.Tricky Trevor wrote:I agree with the OP but before we go over the top we have played the sides currently:

And you are hiding behind numbers.
We lost to Liverpool and Arsenal. We beat Everton, Southampton and Norwich. We drew with Aston Villa, Brighton and Wolves. How many Burnley fans would have expected our season started like that?
I get it....it’s a long season ahead and we will lose some games. I’m just saying enjoy the season, it’s going to be better than some predictions.

And breath. I’m not having a pop, LCP. I’m as thrilled as you with the start but beat a top half side before I’ll be ecstatic. Love, Trevor.LoveCurryPies wrote:Nobody is saying start celebrating.

AT this stage of the season half the reason they aren't in the top half is because we beat them !

Re: Time for fans to enjoy the season
Thus far it has been an odd season Watford down at the bottom Norwich thrash City, Brighton thrash Spurs, Palace and WHU as well as us doing very well. Utd and Arsenal poor by their standards, Everton languishing again. So far a pretty unusual season

Re: Time for fans to enjoy the season
Every season is to be enjoyed, especially those we spend in the Prem - I just want us to stay in there long enough to beat Arsenal! As others have said, results-wise this is turning into a 'funny old season', so 12 points from eight games suggests that we're on target for 50+ points which'll definitely keep us up and should the topsy-turvy results continue could well be sufficient for at the Europa League at least?LoveCurryPies wrote:During the summer, there were a lot of negative fans posting on this forum re poor signings and this being the season we would go down. Re recent signings though: It appears that the backbone/mainstays of our current position remains those players who were with us last year and indeed the year before, which suggests that it's not easy to break into Burnley's starting eleven. Beyond the oft-touted 'Sean Dyche is 'loyal' to his players' suggests to me that they're all perhaps a lot better than many of the naysayers give them credit for?
