The abused and those wrongly accused or investigated with their names in the headlines are really in the same boat and it is all an awful awful mess.
We have gone from women asking for it to every "victim" has to be believed and we end up with this horrible situation. Hopefully we will eventually end up by being able to have a balanced situation with a degree of anonymity applied to suspects.

I think he is Funkydrummer. His only crime seems to have been his sexuality for which he was criminalised for having sex with men under 21 but over 16 . This ended his political career. He was then snared by Nick who was deemed a credible witness. Meanwhile another sitting MP who helped set off the hew and cry has not from memory apologised for his serious error of judgement in harassing the Met about Nick's evidence which has caused untold grief to relatives and friends of Leon Brittan, Edward Jenner, Ted Heath and the lives of Harvey Proctor and Lord Bramall as well as the scars on Cliff Richards character from other allegations.
And as mentioned above, there are those poor teenage girls who were not believed or would not be credible witnesses or were just asking for it.
All an absolute quagmire.
