Going off those results, I'd put us 5th on too.

To be fair it was one of those games where Gary Lineker could just read out the result and move on.

Re: MotD running order
I do think that the order of play has nothing to do with him... most weekends... but I'd keep well out of it if I was him. It could seem too obvious that he's had something to do with it... and he's a cockwomble.Bin Ont Turf wrote:To be fair it was one of those games where Gary Lineker could just read out the result and move on.

Of course it has nothing to do with him, what I was suggesting was that it wasn't a great game and not one for the neutral to watch (even highlights).FactualFrank wrote:I do think that the order of play has nothing to do with him... most weekends... but I'd keep well out of it if I was him. Even I was eyeing up the exit at half time.

Re: MotD running order
Thought it was a decent game myself. Not a lot of chances but a fairly free flowing game and a lot of space for us to exploit in attack.Bin Ont Turf wrote:Of course it has nothing to do with him, what I was suggesting was that it wasn't a great game and not one for the neutral to watch (even highlights).

Surely you've just described the second half there?Rileybobs wrote:Not a lot of chances but a fairly free flowing game and a lot of space for us to exploit in attack.
The first half was niggly with a lot of lumping of the ball (by both sides) and lots of misplaced passes.

Re: MotD running order
Well the second half does account for half of the game. But I didn’t even think the first half was too bad. Not many chances but I didn’t find it unpleasant to watch.Bin Ont Turf wrote:Surely you've just described the second half there?

Re: MotD running order
Everton huffed and puffed and looked to break from defence with pace but once they got near our penalty area they hit a brick wall (and not just our defence).
It's easy to see why they've only scored once away from home.

First half was mind numbingly poor by both teams.

Well I'm not going to push it because Burnley won and that always makes me happy.Rileybobs wrote:Well the second half does account for half of the game. But I didn’t even think the first half was too bad. Not many chances but I didn’t find it unpleasant to watch.

I guess compared to our performances during the first half of last season its easier to enjoy the ‘less entertaining’ games this time round.Bin Ont Turf wrote:Well I'm not going to push it because Burnley won and that always makes me happy.

Tarks seems to ask the ref about VAR, but he just pointed to the linesman suggesting he saw it fine.Bin Ont Turf wrote:Wow, Pieters copped a proper nasty one there.
If VAR not correcting that then what is the actual point?!

Did my ears deceive me - I could have sworn that Shearer used the words Brilliant and Burnley in the same sentence !

But it's one of those weird ones for me. Coleman lets the ball runaway from him and Pieters goes in to tackle turning his back.
I don't think it was malicious, it was just one of them unfortunate ones.

Re: MotD running order
linekar and co are *****, plain and simple, almost TEN minutes post match analysis of the brighton spurs game, and that was mainly to appease the cockney audience, whereas Burnley everton ONE minute.
programme is a joke thesedays.

This term always makes me laugh / smile... rarely used.
Anyone got an idea where it came from?
I have no idea.

How did Da Gangsta miss that?
Then he looks irate when Welbeck doesn’t give him a walk in open goal.

Can VAR be used for a red card if the ref has already seen it and awarded a yellow for the offence?
