Jay Rod v Wood v Barnes
Jay Rod v Wood v Barnes
I would love all 3 up top, but if we are going 2 up top then despite the success of Wood/Barnes, Jay rod has to replace 1 surely? every time he comes on he looks a different class.

IMO the best 2 is Wood/Barnes.ClaretAL wrote:I would love all 3 up top, but if we are going 2 up top then despite the success of Wood/Barnes, Jay rod has to replace 1 surely? every time he comes on he looks a different class.
Re: Jay Rod v Wood v Barnes
We can accommodate all 3 over a season easily. But you're right Rodriguez must be close to starting.

For me you just cannot drop Barnes, centre halves hate him and he adds several dimensions no one else does.
It would be wood I would replace him with.

Rodriguez is looking better every game he gets on. Today was the correct switch with Barnes for him, Barnes was poor today.
Jay is quality and different from Wood and Barnes, he is a great addition to our front line

Getting in his head, along with the crowd.

Who is better in the air?? Jay.
Who is better at link up play as he is good with both feet?? Jay
Who can strike a ball with both feet from outside the box on target?? Jay.
Just my opinion.
Wood has scored two, in one game. Played all games.
Jay scored one from the bench with probably 10% of play time.

Nothing much wrong with starting Wood and Barnes, subbing one for JR later is a good plan.

No justification for changing the starting strikers right now. Jay Rod a great versatile option to have though.

In a heart beat. We looked much more clinical at the start of the season with Barnes being the lead striker. For some reason Wood is leading the line again.FactualFrank wrote:You would drop Wood - not having that.

What more do you need, he had the keeper to beat and didn’t.
4 breaks were wasted today as he was offside.
See previous post, at the start of the season Barnes led the line and we were much more clinical.

You can’t name the three clear chances that he missed because he didn’t have three clear chances. Simple as that. If he did then you would have described them. You’re lying in an attempt to back up your opinion of Wood. It’s like me saying that Tarkowski is back to his best - giving away 3 penalties.Burnleyareback2 wrote:I don’t lie.

I’ve got it all wrong then Wood has been on fire this season and especially today, Pickford will be having nightmares tonight about his performance. If the ball falls to Wood, consider it scored.
On the other hand Hendrik who has played less than half the minutes than Wood has scored 2 goals from midfield V 3 from the clinical and efficient Wood.

Stop muddying the waters. Nobody said Wood has been on fire this season. You said he had three clear chances to score today. You made that up so I called you out on it. You’ve had chances to back up your claim but have chosen not to, because you can’t back up something that isn’t true.Burnleyareback2 wrote:I’ve got it all wrong then Wood has been on fire this season and especially today, Pickford will be having nightmares tonight about his performance. It’s worth noting also that only 14 players have scored more goals than Wood - so a return of 3 goals in 8 games (or in other words the same number as Roberto Firmino) whilst not prolific is hardly anything to criticise.Burnleyareback2 wrote:I’ve got it all wrong then Wood has been on fire this season and especially today, Pickford will be having nightmares tonight about his performance.
