Somebody here with a warped sense of humour. They’ve just stuck ‘Here comes the rain again” by the Eurythmics over the PA just as I was rushing round to get under cover as it really did come down.

Two players of note for Boro.

Nathan Wood is the central defender we were linked with for big money.
Connor Malley - just spoken to his dad and he’s Phil Malley’s brother.

It is half time. Still 1-0 but Boro have come more into it after we started the better team. Scrappy game so far though.

Middlesbrough just got the bar but we’ve been the better side this half. Still 1-0. No longer raining but there is very definitely a north east chill.

Farcical scenes at the end. Stone kicked a bottle and after words with fourth official he walked off. Ref finally went over and told Craig Mawson to go and get him. After some delay he came back to be yellow carded.

It led to 7 minutes of stoppage time but we couldn’t get the goal we deserved.

Really soft pen but ref clearly said no and then took advice from his assistant.

He is. He spoke to one of my friends when he saw we were from Burnley.

That’s a good question. He was here pre-season and then disappeared so I assumed we’d not signed him. Then I turned up today and saw his name on the team sheet. Nothing from the club to say we’ve signed him but it was similar with Lukas Jensen who played before anything was said.
