Brother's playing together
Brother's playing together
With Sean and Matt Longstaff starting for Newcastle at home to Man United, how many brothers have either started together for the same team, or shared the same pitch in the premier league
I get Sean and Matt Longstaff from today
Man United had Gary and Phil Neville , and also those Brazilian twins Fabio and the other who's name escapes me.
Is there anymore
I'm aware cousins have played Lampard and Redknapp , but not sure of any other cousins either.

Re: Brother's playing together
Would Newcastle have had another pair of brothers playing together years ago, with Gary Caldwell lining up alongside our very own Steven Caldwell?
I know they both played for Toon, but not sure whether they ever played together.

Didn't Danny, Ray & Rod Wallace all played together at Southampton. Think Ray & Rod were twins with Danny the older brother

Will and Micheal have certainly shared a pitch, but not sure if they've started together or shared a pitch in the premier league.
I remember Burnley v Preston where they shared s pitch, and know Will played for Hull, but not sure if it happened other than v Preston

The only brothers I’ve seen playing together for Burnley were Richard & Vince Overson.

Re the Overson's, did they only play one game together, a home game against someone as I recall.
Of course we also had the Phelans but Marcus never got a first team game I don't think.

Forget just the Prem. There are other times and leagues!
What about all those Sodje's that pervaded many clubs and divisions a few years ago?
Ah, I now see they're all playing for a prison team:

Pre-Premier League but top flight/old first division - Bob and David Latchford at Birmingham and I think I'm right in saying Henry Newton was Keith Newton's brother? - if so they were at Everton together before Keith moved to TM.
I'm not sure how all the Clarke's were related either but there were several of them from the same family who played at the highest level including Allan (Leeds) and Frank (Ipswich).

The brothers of our very own Joey Gudjonsson, Thordur and Bjarni (and their half brother Bjorn Bergmann Sugurdarson) all played for the same Icelandic Premier League Team (IA) at the same time. Joey also played for that team but not at the same time.
Also,
Eddie and Frank Gray at dirty Leeds.

It's a few years since I saw him. He was down at Gawthorpe with Vince one morning. You wouldn't think he was Vince's brother though.Yeovil1951 wrote:I joined a new golf club earlier this year , After the Villa Leeds play off i was playing with a member called Richard during the game football came up as usual and when i said i was a Claret he asked me to prove it by asking me to name two brothers who played together for Burnley, I Failed and thats when he said Me and my brother Vince it was Richard Overson

Don't think Henry and Keith Newton were brothers. I saw both play and never recall any reference to them being brothers.
Edit Other footballing brothers were Graeme and Joe Shaw at Sheff Utd. in the early 60's, Cyril and Peter Knowles(Spurs and Wolves), and the Brightwell's at Man City. Internationally the Van Der Kerkhofs in the Netherlands.

Newcastle had the robledo brothers though, one half of wyn Davies and Ron Davies who played for Wales together and one half of Kenny and Terry hibbitt who started together, I think.
Chelsea John and David hollins.
