I stood on the Hartlepool terraces with Phil Malley's brother a few years ago, was concerned by his Geordie accent until he explained the family connection.

Phil Malley, now there was a midfield “stopper”.
Wonder how long he’d last these days.. the ref would probably be still tooting for kick off when he was reaching for his card.
