Should bring in breeding licenses and that would sort most NHS issues out.

Re: Help for gaming addiction on NHS
They treat drug/alcohol addiction on the NHS.
I'm not sure about gambling, I'm assuming they provide some sort of help though.
Gaming is just another addiction that needs looking at.
If it's kids with the addiction then the parents and/or home lifestyle needs looking at.
Parental controls are available on both the Xbox and the PS4.
During the week my boys were given an hour each every other day and limited hours at the weekend by their mum, but some of that was also dependant on them doing things like their homework and chores etc.
Full credit to her for doing all of that and enforcing it because it's worked quite well.

Re: Help for gaming addiction on NHS
Difficult to feel too much sympathy for someone who compulsively pi$$es away their money and their life on such vices and base pleasures as horse racing, footy, fruit machines etc but I do have sympathy for the misery often accompanying and inflicted on the family and others close to addictive gamblers. It is, in fact, possible to uphold one's outward, idealised veneer of stoicism; a cultivated and curated, cold, heartless b@stard of a personality into which too many people misplace their sense of pride - (said for the benefit of those who believe showing a little bit of compassion and sympathy makes them a pussy or some such b0llocks) - while also recognising that it benefits society (and the economy, seeing as folk sometimes care about that whenever it suits them) not to have it's citizens crippled by behaviour disorders or mental illness. It's relatively small change to help someone willing to overcome a gambling addiction by pointing them towards recovery groups or behavioural therapy, or even giving them or their families the resources and information to enable then to even just recognise gambling addiction in the first place.
Hmm? What's that? Gaming?... Sorry, I thought this was about gambling. But what's the difference? Addiction is addiction. The object of addiction is secondary to the addiction itself.

I wouldn't want to blow your mind too much, making you question everything you've ever known about the world or the Human condition, but the problem for addicts is that they tend to be addicted to things.bobinho wrote:Leave the computer off...

Basically anything that triggers the reward/pleasure mechanism in your brain can become an addiction if you’re that way inclined, e.g drugs, alcohol, sugar, exercise and probably gaming as well. I bet it’s actually not too dissimilar to fruit machines in terms of the buzz people get.

I only noticed last week that you can see how many posts you make per day. I'm on 1.33, which is the correct amount.chipbutty wrote:And how many hours are you allowed on Up The Clarets?
More than that, you're addicted.

You know if something doesn't directly affect you, then it's not a real thing, right?Rileybobs wrote:Same old bigots spouting nonsense. Your outdated views are embarrassing.

It’s about sensible priority of resources not bleeding heart politically biased idealism. And setting up nationwide clinics for gaming addiction,as opposed to say increasing mental health provision even if just an extra bed per unit ,would , in many people’s eyes be a better use of funds than 1000’s of friendless awkward virgins whose parents though it ok for carte blanche on the XboxRileybobs wrote:So it would seem. Re: Help for gaming addiction on NHS
Not really to do with ‘gaming’ but the above is fine as long as other ‘groups’ aren’t excluded. If you identify as a heterosexual or a fridge you should still be able to attend. You may or wish to but you have to have the choice.AlargeClaret wrote:NHS is here to help everyone

As for gaming it’s load of nonsense and parents need to deal with it. Stop kids being lazy gits looking at screens all day. Just limit the amount of hours they go on them.
