Don't be concerned - it's Barnsley who have sacked their manager
Just to avoid any confusion Sean Dyche is still very much the manager at BURNLEY but Daniel Stendel has been sacked at BARNSLEY.
Usually a club reports that they've decided by mutual agreement to part ways before going on to thank him for his services. Not Barnsley though, their full statement reads: "Barnsley Football Club confirms that it has separated from Daniel Stendel with immediate effect. Adam Murray has been appointed caretaker manager."

Pretty harsh but his post match comments on Saturday didn’t help his cause.

How will this affect the Joey case? It’s been a slow process.

Barnsley a typical yo-yo club between League One and Championship in recent years, guy comes in first season automatic promotion above the likes of Sunderland, Portsmouth, Charlton etc and doesn't receive the opportunity to turn things around, bit harsh in my opinion.

Must admit I didn't hear anything from him but clearly things not right given that brief statement, not even thanking him for his efforts.simonclaret wrote:Pretty harsh but his post match comments on Saturday didn’t help his cause.

Re: Don't be concerned - it's Barnsley who have sacked their manager
I've just read this: "After the sales of several of the promotion heroes and the recruitment of 12 new young signings in the summer, the Reds are currently winless in ten matches since the opening day success over Fulham."
Have they tried to do a mini-Fulham and dispense too quickly with all the players who won them promotion?

It's well know that over the years reverting to us and them the pundits fail to get our Identity right dont know if it happens when they talk just about Barnsley that same mistake happens
But I remember once in a day going to Oakwell was not a place we'd get anything from for love nor money
Resent times we broke that mold thank god

I’d reached the point where I’d almost given up hope of seeing us win there. Now there’s only Old Trafford left for me in that category.Longside4evr wrote:It's well know that over the years reverting to us and them the pundits fail to get our Identity right dont know if it happens when they talk just about Barnsley that same mistake happens

I have never seen us get anything other that stuffed at The Emirates. 5 visits I think and 5 defeats. Some of them on the heavy side, none more so than Wenger's last game in charge....ClaretTony wrote:I’d reached the point where I’d almost given up hope of seeing us win there. Was summer 2015 when Sean Dyche was heavily linked with Sunderland but in the end big Dik Advocaat decided to stay.middleton claret wrote:Double bubble - Jack Ross gone at Sunderland too.
They’ve since had and parted company with Advocaat, Sam Allardyce, David Moyes, Simon Grayson, Chris Coleman and now Ross. It is four years and four days since Advocaat left. How not to run a club.

We got a bit closer at the Emirates this year and as for Old Trafford you’d have to say the last 2 visits could or should have both been wins...

I've had a few Old Trafford trips like that in the 60s and 70s when they've got late, late goals to win or drawHibsclaret wrote:We got a bit closer at the Emirates this year and as for Old Trafford you’d have to say the last 2 visits could or should have both been wins...

Too many of them silkyskills1 - we were 1-0 up on my first visit in the FA Cup in 1965 but lost to two goals scored after 84 and 85 minutesSilkyskills1 wrote:Must be the same games I attended.

Arsenal away is a stumbling block last visit was the best we have played in recent times and deserved of a point
We have had a lot of bad luck with them and some heart breaking decisions go against us
Even against them at home but another team we struggle against is Newcastle at St James all be it we have bypassed each other on a few occasions
It was a 0-1 win in 1976
Another ground that doesn't bode well is Portman Rd again our manager broke the back doors in on that on

That win at St James’ Park in 1976 was our last top flight win until Robbie scored that winner against Manchester United over 33 years later.Longside4evr wrote:Arsenal away is a stumbling block last visit was the best we have played in recent times and deserved of a point

I’m only relieved that I’d no idea how long it was going to be before the next win when I left St James’ that day. Looking back now it’s hard to believe what happened in terms of how far we dropped and then how we’ve climbed again.Longside4evr wrote:33 years where does time go first visit for me was 82 3-0 defeat that featured Keegan Mcdermott Waddle

If only some had witnessed the roller coaster I've been on following our team i think a lot would change there sentiments and judgements on our present predicament

When George Best laid on the winner with his boot in his hand. Should have been disallowed as an offensive weapon.ClaretTony wrote:Too many of them silkyskills1 - we were 1-0 up on my first visit in the FA Cup in 1965 but lost to two goals scored after 84 and 85 minutes

Stendel being lined up by Sunderland. Have they tapped him, leading to his Barnsley departure?

Yep, 1-0 up and 2-1 up. Willie Morgan equalised with a superb 'chip' and then Lou Macari scored the winner in the last minute. Even in the dreadful season of 75-76 when we were relegated we were 1-0 up at half time at Old Trafford and then conceded two goals in the second half.joey13 wrote:Not forgetting the League Cup in 74 I think

A lot of draws and they've nicked most of them I no who's the happiest out of the two teams if we draw in that theatre
The only issue is you want the win so much when your so close they always come up with a way so annoying but really an excellent result
Wish we could play them there next instead of Leicester away i would really fancy our chances
