Going to a Funeral Friday next week at Christs Church on Keighley Road, Colne. What is the parking like round there (as I know Keighley Road is very busy.....)

Head towards Ball Grove, a couple of minutes walk and plenty of parking.Bosscat wrote:Going to a Funeral Friday next week at Christs Church on Keighley Road, Colne. What is the parking like round there (as I know Keighley Road is very busy.....)

I teach guitar on Friday mornings at Christ Church school next to the church and Bent Lane is difficult to park on. There is parking across the road down Ball Grove drive which is really close to the church.

Once we have self driving cars you’ll be able to jump out and leave it to find a parking spot itself.

Perhaps, but it's a very long walk from the town centre - especially if the weather is a bit rough.Quickenthetempo wrote:The whole town is a car park.

On Sunday mornings the church-goers park along the main road (i.e. on Keighley Road itself) which is not the greatest so , yes, definitely Ball Grove car park across the road.

Right Bosscat.. Don't know what time the funeral is,but you are much better coming off at the end of M65 at boundary mill and then turning right to get on the main rd that takes you up through Colne centre and straight through to the church.. The traffic on the Valley can be horrendous.. Also there is a good cafe at Ball Grove lake next to the car park if you need refreshments before/ after the funeral.. Just saying like..

Re: Funeral Christs Church Colne, Bent Lane, Keighley Road
In which case if you want to avoid the North Valley traffic pain I’d come off the M65 at the Nelson/Barrowford junction , drive through Barrowford, fork right in Higherford (after the Old Bridge Inn) and then turn right just before the Cross Gaits pub down Red Lane. As well as being a beautiful scenic drive this will bring you out on the Foulridge side of Colne . Turn left at the roundabout by the Langroyd pub and your heading towards Foulridge.
