Re: The black footballers dilemma
Goading opposition players to put them off, was part of football, where fans engaged in psychological warfare, a lot of the so-called racist chanting is just a way to rile them, Burnley have had black players in the team and our fans have goaded an opposition player by directing their jibes about their colour.
That aspect is part of the discourse, it's not just a theatre outing IT IS tribal war, is football and goading the opposition is part of it.
Don't make out I'm a racist for talking about this, this post is nothing to do with racism, I'm pointing out that a lot of the goading comes from another place.
If one cannot jeer the opposition then the fan entertainment is diminished, fans make their own entertainment as part of the spectacle.
I'm not condoning racist chanting, but part of this anti-racism movement is another way of subduing the male populace to make them supplicant to rule.

Pstotto, I think you’re confusing this with some kind of Inter Milan ultra forum. People who aren’t racist do not use racism as psychological warfare. So called racist chanting, seriously!?

There are literally heaps and heaps of Glory that some of our less-enlightened posters are just dying to cover themselves in on this topic. Pstotto has just stared shovelling.

Mental warfare is very much part of professional sport.
They all know who are the drinkers, gamblers, philanderers, mentally not in a good place and take every advantage they can. Every one of these should be deemed unacceptable. Racism is not on a different level for me but is despicable.

There is thankfully far less racism in the game than the abuse that referees have to put up with.
Neither should be happening in the game we all love

No it's not racist that there is no white history month. Every month has been pretty much white history month for as long as history has been taught.

'Visit Rwanda' (I think Arsenal is it, now have it as a sponsor?)
How about that for a chant?
To the tune of 'Go and tell Aunt Nancy'
Go and visit Rwanda,
Go and visit Rwanda,
Go check out the clubbing scene
Paul Pogba... (whatever footballer's name)
That's using a recognized advert in football, and also it's in accordance with Black history month.

If you did read it,can you explain it to me.fidelcastro wrote:Did I really just read that?

Re: The black footballers dilemma
I'll explain it to you , it's about the pre-emptive negative strike as a political strategy of downing somebody by warning them about their behaviour when they haven''t done anything, as an implicit lower judgement.
'Steve, you've got to learn to respect people' (example)
Be NICE and SIT DOWN, SHUT UP.
And if you react against the command, THEY ACCUSE YOU of reacting against the sentiment of the ethos e.g. 'Don't insult blacks', if you react against it (i.e. the insulting pre-emptive presumption), the next political manoeuvre is to accuse you of reacting against the notion of not insulting blacks.
It's THE p.c. fascist strategy of our times, to say 'you are wrong and we are right' even though nothing has happened.
It's the elite minorities using minorities to bash the majority as a SIMULACRUM OF THE ELITE, hence Feminism, black power, Islam, lesbian and gays as the simulacrum of the elite minority and it you're against this 'cultural elite' ruling you via the media, you are the four pariah words, racist, homophobic, sexist, religious bigot.
Things will get worse because the new head of the PL is the chief executive of the Guardian newspaper, expect more sport indoctrination of this pc fascism, working on behalf of the elite to keep everyone subdued and down and supplicant, GOOD BOYS, NICE BOYS, OBEDIENT BOYS.

Re: The black footballers dilemma
There's a massive difference between singing, for example, "B**stard reject" and "You black b**stard". The motivation for shouting such abuse is irrelevant. One is racist, the other isn't.Pstotto wrote:Don't make out I'm a racist for talking about this, this post is nothing to do with racism, I'm pointing out that a lot of the goading comes from another place.

Re: The black footballers dilemma
I think you'd better guard the touchlines, Sausage, when United visit the Turf, as we don't want to upset Pogba when he's taking a penalty... That's not fair.
My solution around the problem, see post 24.

Re: The black footballers dilemma
It's perfectly fair to give a player some stick, e.g.Pstotto wrote:I think you'd better guard the touchlines, Sausage, when United visit the Turf, as we don't want to upset Pogba when he's taking a penalty... That's not fair.
"Paul, you're s**t"
"Paul, you overpaid primadonna"
But "Paul, you black b**stard" is beyond the pale. The motivation for saying any one of those three phrases might be exactly the same, but one of them is clearly racist.
You don't think chanting "Go and visit Rwanda" at a black player is tantamount to suggesting that black players should "go home"?Pstotto wrote:My solution around the problem, see post 24.
The really easy way to avoid being accused of being racist is a) don't be racist; and b) see point a.
Re: The black footballers dilemma
Sanctimonous prig... Arsenal I think are advertising 'Visit Rwanda', so???????? Your thinking?????
... And Pogba you're what? S**t? Are you implying????????
Anyway, you can feel proud, you're a very very good Hector.

Putting it to dk's holiday works nicely. Particularly the replacement of pol pog for pol pot.
Re: The black footballers dilemma
I think folk should just chant 'Visit Rwanda' to all teams... Good chant for Leicester match away.
Arsenal have it on their sleeves, perhaps a bit of Gallagher and Lyle as an additional lyric:
'And wear your heart on your sleeve,
And wear you're heart on your sleeve...
