It’s stupid how people who buy first with the most loyalty points get stuck in block A at the front probably behind the touch line, whilst them with less points and buy later get better tickets in a more central behind the goal area. Surely that isn’t right.

Don't know why you were told that as they are back on sale online but probably won't be for long until sold out fully.

Maybe book on a supporters coach so if you need any help with anything, people will always be around?
I presume you don't need a full disabled place but it's an option. Ring Sheff Utd, they might be able to help.

Unfortunately, clubs have a strict selling order and we have to abide by it.thelaughingclaret wrote:It’s stupid how people who buy first with the most loyalty points get stuck in block A at the front probably behind the touch line, whilst them with less points and buy later get better tickets in a more central behind the goal area. any unsold seats would not be allocated to the home sideClaretTony wrote:Unfortunately, clubs have a strict selling order and we have to abide by it.
but if tickets were sold in reverse order then any unsold seats would be available at the front of our allocation and could be then utilised by the many who wished to sit during the match...actually complying with ground regulations!

It’s the home club that set the selling policy so if they say need to start selling from bottom left, top right or middle seat outwards that is what we have to do
Re: 2019/20: Sheffield United v Burnley – Ticket Information
Although some home clubs allow the away club to use their seating plan for the away section, thereby allowing away fans to choose their seats. As an example Brighton had this option for their away game at Villa. I don't know if other clubs offer this facility but it does allow those who want to seat or those with kids to choose seats towards the front.ClaretTony wrote:Unfortunately, clubs have a strict selling order and we have to abide by it.

I know that but never-the-less as this is a message board I thought I might offer a suggestion that might resonate with somebody and you never know things might just change...particularly as no justifiable reason is offered (or can be thought of - other than convenience) for selling 'from the front' first!wilks_bfc wrote:It’s the home club that set the selling policy so if they say need to start selling from bottom left, top right or middle seat outwards that is what we have to do
many 'stuck-in-the-mud' methods have changed once alternative ways have been considered...particularly, if the alternative way has some advantage or benefit to the customer!

Its been a bizarre method for this game. I bought ours at 6pm on the first day and was allocated seats A21-23. I'm 100% sure I wasn't one of the first people to buy tickets as our allocated seats would suggest.ClaretTony wrote:Unfortunately, clubs have a strict selling order and we have to abide by it.

Re: 2019/20: Sheffield United v Burnley – Ticket Information
some of the supporters clubs get a 'block' allocation depending on demand of the regular coach travelers requesting them...the allocation for these blocks may have been a few rows from the front - hence row A being still available at 6:00pm.Granny WeatherWax wrote:Its been a bizarre method for this game. I'll look to see which rows the clubs are seated at Sheffield and post info after 2nd November

Seems a bit fishy. Not sure that it does explain it? As if they'd just have taken the lower tier then they maybe could also have used the seating plan just for that tier. But we'll never know!

But it's not though, and theres a policy from the home team, but it isnt that strict.
Why do you think sides that take under 1k are all in the centre and not from row a seat 1 onwards..
It's a load of old codswhallop, where certain people get looked after and the rest have to make fo.
Just the way the club like it.

I’ve attended meetings at our club, other clubs and with national fan organisations on this. Thanks for telling me that it’s codswhallop and that I’ve wasted my time.MACCA wrote:But it's not though, and theres a policy from the home team, but it isnt that strict.

Unless when you place an order online you are not automatically and immediately assigned a seat, which seems perfectly plausible.Granny WeatherWax wrote:So sounds like its absolute nonsense that we have got told to sell these in a certain order.

Not that is matters given demand rarely outstrips supply but away tickets should be sold on a rolling, say 2, year attendance at away matches.

Due to outside circumstances, I've largely stopped going to away matches. I only went to two last season ( Wolves and Everton ), and I plan to go to no more than three this season. I am going to Sheffield though.
However, because of my frequent attendance up to two years ago, I have over 9000 points, and because they don't expire I'll be in the first group to apply for years yet.
One thing, when you don't go away as often, you look forward to it even more when you do.

For others information I bought mine in the over 2000 points category, I'm block BL3, row S. I also seem to sit near the same people every time, which suggests the are just allocated in order of selling as they probably buy as soon as they come available to 2000+ like I do

Nope I am suggesting it's not sold in a certain order every time, and I am also positive certain groups/supporters get looked after in terms of seats/tickets, just the way it goes.
Why people need to hide that fact or can't be transparent with the truth baffles me.

Case in point, it away tickets were scarce it would be unfair for you to get one over a season ticket holder who has been to the majority of away games over the last 2 years.lakedistrictclaret wrote:I think GWW has a point here, although it would work against me personally.

And I know a chap whis only missed possibly 3 away games in 4 seasons now , including the Europe games, yet is still stuck on 4k points as at the start of that run due to the system, he used another chaps clarets number/points, and has done so for around half a dozen seasons so he could get tickets sat with his mates who were all above the points ceiling.Granny WeatherWax wrote:Case in point, it away tickets were scarce it would be unfair for you to get one over a season ticket holder who has been to the majority of away games over the last 2 years.
The ceiling only gets higher.
It is totally unfair on our younger supporters or dads and lads, but that's "just tough" and no one wants to change it.
And why would anyone who's looked after or guarantee tickets?
So it goes round and round.
Also for the biggest away games in decades, I met at least half a dozen people who didnt have season tickets, or even support Burnley on the games, probably at the expense of some loyal supporters/child who just cant ever bridge the points ceiling due to the system in place.
