looks to me like Knobgate thinks he can play the way he wants without the realisation the players at his disposal can't do it. Defenders need to be able to defend first and foremost, utterly irrelevant that they can ping a ball 50 yards if they can't mark at set pieces etc.

Cant pick players who are out of form and low on confidence, and expect them to all of a sudden be world beaters after spending 3 days with Gareth.
Pick on form, make sure players dont know or think you're place is secure.

And we mentioned it on Saturday, pick a keeper that takes the pressure off a flakey defense and does the basics well, not one who thinks he is Steven Gerrard spraying balls all over the place and putting you under unnecessary pressure!

Thought Gareth was picking on form, what a load of old tosh. Straight back to the england of the last 2 decades.
Boring to watch, players picked on club they play for, reputation and transfer fee paid.

I really dont like Keane and Maguire as a central pairing. And its not just their defending either, they seem to lack any vision when they are coming out with the ball and so just pass it to a marked fullback or give the ball away.

So now we have posters wanting Tarks to play because he’s dangerous in the oppositions box yet has only 3 goals for us and Trippier should be taking free kicks because he’s that good he’s scored 2 in his entire career

Even though we were really, really poor, we should have been out of sight by the time the Czechs got their winner.

The team is good, and the talent is there. Just needs some tweaks to who starts where.

Apart from Barkley, who isn't remotely good enough

Tonight should be a reality check for all those who think England will be a serious contender next summer,ponderous build-up with no end product,midfield bypassed easily by the Czechs despite having Rice and Henderson as defensive shields,and a shaky defence,especially at set-pieces,reminds me of the WC semi-final when Modric and Perisic run the game and England were chasing shadows.

England are a decent side,but once we face the likes of Belgium,Croatia,Holland and the Czechs,the same failings are emerging,qualification will still be achieved but England won't reach the business end of the EC,quarterfinals at best with this squad.

I think the squad is there - we just need to play our strongest team.

Not sure I agree. England have looked like a very good side over the past year or so. Not without their flaws, but in a tournament without any particular stand out teams they’ll be in with a shout. The likes of Spain, Germany and even France aren’t the dominant forces they’ve been in the past so the tournament is wide open. And with the semi finals and the final at Wembley England have got every chance.

Tonight was a shocking performance but I don’t think it calls for knee jerk reactions. I think we will be in a position to field a stronger side next summer.

I would put money on Henderson giving the ball away the most out of any England player since stats began to get recorded.

You need to control the midfield in international football and he shouldn't be anywhere near.
