Another diving cheat. It’s embarassing and fecking annoying.
Re: France penalty
And now the ridiculous commentator says, “It probably was a foul. He just took a long time to fall down.”
Are they bloody serious!

Re: France penalty
From behind the goal he was kicked in the stomach. Penalty.
Re: France penalty
I don’t care if he was kicked in the stomach. He didn’t get injured. It was barely a tickle. He wasn’t knocked out of his stride. He dived.
Don’t for God’s sake say there was contact

Re: France penalty
In the modern game any contact whatsoever = right to go down, and right to go down = penalty. Not too sure what having the right to go down means but that’s what it is now. What the laws of the game say doesn’t matter one bit anymore, refs generally just make it up as they go along and pick and choose what rules they want to make up and follow as they feel. We see it now every game for example with this new substitution rule at the nearest touch line that is only followed when the ref feels like it.

Not sure whether you’re making excuses for the modern game or whether you’re complaining about the modern game.
That French player had no reason to fall over. He wasn’t hurt or pushed off balance. He simply cheated. Just look at it. The whole game is becoming a farce.

Re: France penalty
Everyone thought VAR would clean up cheating. It’s just made it worse. Players now go down on a whim, knowing it will be looked at, and if there is the slightest contact/touch/breathed on, they give the penalty. All VAR is doing is slowing down the game.

Re: France penalty
We are now in an era where you can be done for making contact after playing the ball. Think back to Barnes/Matic and today Barnes would have got the card.
I’m not sure how much contact YOU need to go down but if a defender is trying to clear a ball, misses it, and kicks you in the stomach that would be enough for me.
