Fine voice. Shut my eyes and very Bill Medley. What hand did he have in the track. Producer?

Re: Covers
Alaimo was an early 60's teen idol, writing and recording Everyday I Have To Cry (big hit for Dusty over here) in 63. He went on to be a writer, record producer, label owner, tv show presenter with Dick Clark - the lot. I had an EP of his with Don't Let The Sun on it , which is where I know it from. I let the disc go in a bulk sale. Never seen or heard of it before or after so feel it might be as rare as rocking horse droppings - chalk it up to experience. His voice was great and indeed Bill Medley sounds like him. Gerry And The Pacemakers version was excellent too.Tricky Trevor wrote:A knew name to me so I’ll check him, thanks.

Cheers for that. I misread your earlier post. I read it as if he was involved in the Gloria version.basil6345789 wrote:Alaimo was an early 60's teen idol, writing and recording Everyday I Have To Cry (big hit for Dusty over here) in 63. Just stunning, I remember seeing Gary at Preston Guild Hall, he only said two words the whole evening. "Hello Preston"

Wouldn't be the first to have such problems. Richard Harris couldn't not sing "MacArthur's Park" which, eventually, Webb just let slide and it sounds none the worse for it.mikeS wrote:“...a linesman for the county” cut. Guy it’s Lineman not linesman. Take 43...

Re: Covers
I've been a massive Steve Harley fan since the 70s he's still touring today and his shows are something to behold, saw him at the Picture Dome in Holmfirth, brilliant gig,at the Bridge water Hall with a full orchestra and many other places including the Public Hall in Haslingden and the Astoria in Rawtenstall, this isn't a bad effort at a cover.
