Where has the 8.15 ko time come from all of a sudden? Good news about the Spurs and Everton away games not being moved but an early kickoff on New Years day isn't good.

8.15 will mean nobody can get home on public transport and even later for kids getting home on a school night.

They just keep on pushing and pushing.

It's probably a bit more convenient for people watching on TV in America or the Far East though, so that's a bonus.

I live at the top of Manchester Road and can't get home by public transport after a 7:45 p.m. kick off but it is another 15 mins on the usual TV time and it isn't fair for people with distance to travel or for kids and older people.

I'll be passing my ticket on for the City home game. 8.15pm kick off on a school night isn't happening.

United away on T.V on a Wednesday night probably means another low away following as well.

But Sky aren't bothered about any of that. All they care about is the armchair watcher! Fans actually going to games don't figure in their decision making.

Last train is normally just after 11. Doesn’t take an hour to get from old Trafford to Victoria. But regardless 8:15 kick off is a joke.

In previous seasons you received a fixed sum for up to ten games then an additional figure for any above the ten and we were on eleven times last season. I think the additional figure was just over a million.

The base number has gone up this year though due to the extra games.

Just checked - it was £12.3 million guaranteed last season (10 games or less) and we got £13.5 million.

I can normally persuade the kids mother to let the boys come to midweek games, but they live near Bingley which takes an hour if we leave slightly early.

I'm not even going to ask against City, even though they will be gutted not seeing the best footballers in the premier league.

Midweek 8:15 pm kick offs and Saturday 7:45 pm kick offs. This is what footballs about now. Money dictates when we play. All this is to best suit viewers in America and the Far East. 8:15 kick off time is just ridiculous. With VAR the game won’t finish until 10:15. Thing is this is only the tip, won’t be long until 8:30, the. 8:45, then 9:00, then 9:15 and so on. Makes sometimes wish we were in the lower leagues again when life was simpler and if you ask me more fun.

That's why La liga have introduced midday kickoff times, to suit TV viewers in the Far East. With a culture like Spain's that's ridiculous, probably the equivalent to games kicking off at 9am in this country.

Morning kick offs will happen here soon enough if it means more viewers in the Far East.
In a few decades time I can see games kicking off at all hours including the early hours of the morning.
The sooner this European super league happens the better.

These companies get no money at all from attending fans so why should they care? It’s the premier league and the clubs in the league who allow them to wreck havoc and bend over backwards to make the already rich richer whilst shafting actual football fans.
Football is now a TV show, isn’t a sport anymore, not in the premier league anyway. The top level of football in the top European leagues is absolute poison.

In fairness, Sky have met with fans’ groups where BT don’t want to know. I’m not suggesting that Sky are supportive of fans but they do listen.

New Year's Day game at 12.30pm rather than 3pm. Rubbish for those travelling long-distance as getting up early on New Years Day can be, err, challenging, :|

TV constantly pushing the boundaries. Can see games being played in empty stadia with virtual fans in the future.

Clearly going that direction. So expensive to manage all those fans. Much easier to broadcast with CGI fans.
