Asking for help - Burnley FC food & beverage prices for the season

Post by Patrick Casey » Fri Oct 18, 2019 11:21 am

Dear Up the Clarets forum and Burnley fans,

My name is Patrick and I'm a university student, currently working on my thesis, where I analyze the cost of football for fans in the Premier League and how it changed in the last 5 years. As part of my research, I'm also collecting food & beverage prices from the current season in the following categories:

Pint of beer (cheapest category)
Pint of cider (cheapest category)
Mineral water (0,5 l)
Soft drink (0,5 l)
Tea
Pie
Hot food - burger or hot dog
Crisps (one bag)

I have contacted the clubs themselves and while I received some answers, unfortunately Burnley was not one of them. It would be much appreciated if you could help.

Kind regards,

Patrick

That will be a thesis all on its own...probably for a Ph.D.

Might be better off asking just after a home game fella.

The idea that we have enough choice (ie. More than one) of beer for there to be a cheapest category is novel though.

How are you going to fine out the prices 5 years ago? I'd say on the turf the prices haven't shifted much in that time...

If you contact @Gibbo1882 on twitter, Chris Gibson is the catering manager and normally very helpful on there.

I'll guarantee that no club sells cheaper Benedictine.

Think a pie is £2.50

You can get a "Meal Deal" of hot food (pie/hot dog/pizza twist), drink & snack (choc bar/crisps) for £5.50

Dead right DSR. Don't forget to check out how much a Bene (and ot) costs and then compare it to the other grounds Patrick. That shouldn't take you long!! :)

Hi Everyone!

I'm still in need of the price points mentioned at the starting post of this thread - can someone help me out?

Presumably you need to know what the prices were 5 years ago?

What subject are you studying?

Pies and drinks are far too expensive in the ground. You can get a much better pie (imo) over the road in the kiosk for £1.20, tea and coffee around 50/60 pence and allow you to put your own milk in.

Sorry not really helping the original thread title but as another poster mentioned Gibbo is the man to contact.
