The referee gave the goal. For once in the game he did not make a clear and obvious error

If its a trip, its a trip, if it isn't, it isn't.
If its too hard to see what it is, then the original decision stands.
Doesn't sound that hard does it?
Lancs,
I have watched it several times.
I cannot see any contact that would be considered a foul .
It would never be given as a penalty. Never.

Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
Ok even if this had happened anywhere else on the pitch the free kick would or would not be given and VAR would not be consulted add to that if this was in the box on wood for a pen and the ball was about to go out for a goal kick would a pen be given NOImploding Turtle wrote:Wood tripped him. I'm not sure why you lot are being so hysterical over it.
Anywhere else on the pitch it'd be a foul and none of you would have a problem with it.
That’s the whole problem with VAR. Refs decision was a goal and that’s how it should have stood if the ref had said no goal and it was referred to VAR then it should have stood as no goal there is no way anyone in the world could say if Evans would have got the ball was tripped on purpose or even if he was tripped by wood the whole thing stinks and time for me to stop watching football I think I will just look out for the results and live with that.
Thanks to the FA FIFA and the rest of the governing bodies for destroying the game I once loved.

I’ve been thinking for a number of weeks that the Premier League is deliberately trying to discredit VAR. Rather than removing contentious decisions, it is creating them!clansman wrote:Imploding turtle , contentious argumentative and always wrong. It was clearly a legitimate goal. Var will be under intense scrutiny after this. Absolutely disgraceful decision and not one football pundit will defend it.
No reasonable person (IT isn’t, but we knew that anyway) could believe that was a foul - you certainly couldn’t argue it was a “clear and obvious” error, which is meant to be the standard.
Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
I don't think it's unreasonable to believe it was a foul. The VAR operator obviously thought it was, unless you're saying they're deliberately making wrong decisions for some reason.scouseclaret wrote:I’ve been thinking for a number of weeks that the Premier League is deliberately trying to discredit VAR. Anybody know who the assistant video referee was who made the decision?

Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
A mystery source has forwarded a story to the papers that Evans has admitted to his team mates that he went to ground on purpose.
A tough game, with our depleted squad, in form opposition and the distracting elements associated with their departed Chairmans remembrance. A sad event, and nobody would begrudge Leicester the opportunity to remember what he did for their club and keep his memory alive, but we always seem to be the team playing them when the time comes around. The fans rise to the occasion and that really gives their team a big boost.
I think Sean made something of a rod for his own back by championing VAR. The powers that be know he can't really say anything bad about any debatable decisions that go against us without opening himself up to " you asked for it " responses.
The lads deserved a point for their performance today, we got screwed. It will be interesting to see what Salt n Vinegar has to say about it.

Pieters played very well. He got done for pace a couple of times, but nothing major. His positioning was better and he made a couple of important blocks. I think he has an adamantium skeleton, because he shook off another nasty challenge as well.jrgbfc wrote:Away from VAR how did Pieters play today?
I would still like to see Taylor start though.

If you read my post, that is what I’m saying. I don’t think the Premier League want VAR and I think they’re trying to discredit it. Too many incorrect decisions aren’t being overturned, too many correct decisions are.Tall Paul wrote:I don't think it's unreasonable to believe it was a foul. Eventually everyone will get pi55ed off with it and ask for it to be scrapped.

Apparently made by the assistant var referee. Who the hell is Dan Robathan ?
Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
That doesn't make sense, the Premier League could scrap it whenever they want.scouseclaret wrote:If you read my post, that is what I’m saying. Boll0cks!!!!
Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
Just googled him. He is a lineman from Surrey who ran the line at our game at Arsenal this season ! How can a linesman be allowed to make a final decision without the actual game ref having any part of it. Clear and obvious error. Yes but not by Jon moss on this occasion
Re: Leicester City v .MIGHTY CLARETS
Bugger. Robbed. Back at car for the journey home. Grrr!

I wasn't at the game and so disappointed. I definitely won't be watching MOTD tonight in case I blow a fuse.

It's a shocking fall to be honest he goes down like a cheap prostitute, getting tips from little Jamie I assume.
Re: Leicester City v .MIGHTY CLARETS
The manner of defeat is annoying and questionable. But I’m willing to write this one off. Fact is, with Leicester’s team, I expected to lose this game comfortably and we’ve deserve a result from it. I’m pleased with how this season has progressed so far

Re: Leicester City v .MIGHTY CLARETS
interesting fact from BBC website...I thought it would have been much more victories that that!:
This was Burnley's 100th away Premier League match, but they have won just 16 of those 100 games. Only West Brom (12) have won fewer in their first 100 away games in the competition.

VAR was a disgrace throughout the league, yesterday.

Utter bo11ocks. He posts all the goals as quick as possible after they are scored. A troll wouldn’t even be watching our live games. He has put forward a perfectly reasonable argument that there was contact. Was it deliberate...NO. Does that matter...Yes. We were unlucky but none of this would have mattered if Chris Wood had buried his first effort.FCBurnley wrote:He is not a Burnley fan. Don’t let him scam you that he is
Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
I think the real question about football going forward, is this crap about 'there was contact, so he was ENTITLED to go down'.Tricky Trevor wrote:Utter bo11ocks. Because he was touched is irrelevant. The going down was self induced, a yard or more later, when there was realisation that he was not getting it.
That is the cheating equivalent of Vardy tripping himself for a pen.
They must teach that at Leicester!
Elsewhere, players were literally brought down yesterday and no pens given. So 'contact' obviously didn't count then.
Football is being ruined by inept and inconsistent decisions.
I still remember the Wolves equaliser too. Self inflicted by wolves striker and yet he gets a pen for squealing and writhing.
