Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
I'm watching a HD stream and the ball definitely wasn't in the net when the 'trip' happened
But also I don't see any contact from Wood

Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
Garth Crooks adds his usual sensible contribution...
"Sean Dyche is furious but it looks like is it is a push. You can see that Jonny Evans says straight away that he was pushed in the back. If he was not pushed, he would have cleared it. That's what VAR is for but for me that is a goal. I feel like that they have interpreted it wrong. I think Sean Dyche has every right to be furious."
So it is a push. If he wasn't pushed it would have been cleared. That's what VAR is for. But, hang on, it should be a goal. And it's been misinterpreted.
VAR will have to go some to come up with anything more baffling than how Garth Crooks keeps his job...

We've been well and truly shafted.

Moss set the tone on first minute when he booked Hendrick. Barely a foul by us in the game and we had 4 booked I think.
Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
It really comes down to this, for me: Burnley does NOT get that call.
If you believe that, you can only see VAR as another way to screw the little guy.

My knowledge seems to at least understand that you're not allowed to trip your opponents. Maybe more of you lot on here should learn what constitutes a foul.ksrclaret wrote:You don't have an opinion either way because your knowledge, on the matter of football, isn't strong enough. Imploding turtle , contentious argumentative and always wrong. It was clearly a legitimate goal. Var will be under intense scrutiny after this. Absolutely disgraceful decision and not one football pundit will defend it.Imploding Turtle wrote:I'm not denying that. I'm just pointing out the double standard.

Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
Haven't seen it, but it seems pretty unanimous that this is a poor decision.
If its a trip, its a trip, if it isn't, it isn't.
If its too hard to see what it is, then the original decision stands.
Doesn't sound that hard does it?

It's up there with the non-award of the penalty for the foul on Barnes recently. It really is that poor

Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
Having seen the replay after the game, I think I agree with IT that Evans was tripped.
However, the way VAR has been used this season it shouldn't have been disallowed.

Re: Letcher Shitty v .MIGHTY CLARETS
Just for clarity wood touched Evans back foot. Evans threw himself down. The ball was already on or over the line and would have been an Evans oh. Once the ball came off Evans he had zero chance of stopping the goal. If you want to see bias look at our car decision and the 2 at spurs

Just browsing the BBC text feed and VAR will dominate MOTD if that's any indication of events,Watford can definitely feel aggrieved 2 big calls wrongly going against them,it must be a coincidence that the majority of contentious VAR decisions go for the precieved 'big' clubs.
