Today's Support
Just parked up in Leicester and as I was getting it out or the car, radio Leicester reporting Burnley have sold just 400 tickets. All that fuss about Sheffield United away tickets for nothing it seems
Re: Today's Support
Can't believe that's true, but however many we've sold not being able to sell out 1200 is pretty poor, all things considered. And before anyone points out no I'm not at the game either.damo_whitehead wrote:Just parked up in Leicester and as I was getting it out or the car, radio Leicester reporting Burnley have sold just 400 tickets. Might be complete rubbish. But it was what was said on radio Leicester by the presenterjrgbfc wrote:Can't believe that's true, but however many we've sold not being able to sell out 1200 is pretty poor, all things considered. And before anyone points out no I'm not at the game either.

Re: Today's Support
Whatever our allocation was we've virtually sold it out. It just showed an image from the corner of the stadium.
It does like look a pittance if an allocation and disappointing we couldn't have taken more. Apathy setting in maybe?

Just stating what was said on the radio. 400 would of been embarrassing, that was my point. As it's been shown, BBC Radio Leicester were talking rubbish :lol:Burnley1989 wrote:I don’t understand your point

Support always drops off a bit if you spend a few years in the same league. If it looks like we could push for top 7 or 8 again I'm confident our away support would pick up.Claretmatt4 wrote:Whatever our allocation was we've virtually sold it out. Poor turnout. That said probably worse away game in league.

Re: Today's Support
You could say pre match that we were looking like pushing for that spot.jrgbfc wrote:Support always drops off a bit if you spend a few years in the same league. If it looks like we could push for top 7 or 8 again I'm confident our away support would pick up.
It is a pig to get to. I was after going but prioritised Sheffield as they look more likely to be in a different division next year
Re: Today's Support
I think theres a few reasons for it tbh. On the whole I don't think the younger generation are as keen, I bet if you looked around our end today it was a predominantly older crowd. Also as a club we've probably gone just about as far as we can in modern football. Finishing in mid table is a great achievement for us but it's nowhere near as exciting as a promotion push.Claretmatt4 wrote:You could say pre match that we were looking like pushing for that spot.

Re: Today's Support
Was about 1100 I’d guess ? Great atmosphere though with “ Jamie Vardy ,your wife is a grass” belted out at full volume being very funny . Leics possibly the most plastic fans I’ve ever witnessed ,they looked virtually robotic in their white memorial scarves and the band was just rattling out the same dirge which sounded like a cross between a steel band and a Bollywood film score

I wish I hadn't gone. At least, if I stayed at home I might have had some clue what was going on with the 'disallowed' goal.

I’d glad to have been there today with 1200 decent clarets rather than on here complaining how poor the following was while not attending

Re: Today's Support
Official attendance confirmed as 1200 away supporters - full allocation sold. Listened to the game on radio and that was the announcement. What’s with all this ‘only 400’ and talk of drop in support? You can only take as much support as the tickets you are given. I was never going but I had 2 mates who couldn’t get tickets.

We could have had more tickets if we wanted but the demand wasn't there. 1200 is the smallest allocation we could have had.houseboy wrote:Official attendance confirmed as 1200 away supporters - full allocation sold. But they weren't singing that... They were singing "champions of England, you made us sing that", in reference to their late chairmanBurypaddy wrote:Well over a 1000 and listening to the usual shite about 'champions of england you'll never say that' and no matter how many times you tell them we have won it they don't get it!! Re: Today's Support
Never an easy ground to get to and away from 3 hours etc . The away section that we didn’t take appeared to be full of tourists /suits/corporate ? .Perhaps it’s their “ stand by” area for tickets . Their fans were awful only when they went 2-1 did they sing some giddy plastic anthem

It's around 7% of our home support, which is quite good.Quicknick wrote:1267 isn't that bad with the price of going to EPL football.

Re: Today's Support
A Spurs fan was doing some painting for me Saturday morning. We chatted a little about football. He's not been to the new WHL yet - it's hard to get a ticket and expensive for the home fans. He quoted some ridiculous number on their wait list for STs, way more than the capacity of Turf Moor.
I told him I planned to be there in Dec - paying my over 65 discounted £30.
