Billy Bean, built a machine, to see what it would do,
He built it out of sticks and stones and nuts and bolts and glue.

Yes it has I agree.fidelcastro wrote:If you find people being called "poofs" entertaining and funny, then watch all you like.

But I still defend the right to find it funny as a historical series.
Mt other half’s sis is gay and I a have a couple of friends who are. They are all wonderful who I love and respect. Their sexuality is meaningless to me as it should be today.

If they do, fine, but it really showed a lack of imagination from the writers. In my opinion, of course!

I don’t know , but I will ask.
Sometime we find that things we think people would be offended by they are not.
However, if it was made today, it would not be acceptable to be aired.

Re: Who remembers?
So guy sisters reply.
I’d be offended if they were made now, but in the day they were silly fun. I love Gloria in it ain’t half hot mum and I’m prone to imitate Dick Emery’s kick and flick mincer!! John Inman is my hero.
So let’s not judge what they think for them please.

Re: Who remembers?
Fantasy Island was on (in Canada) right after Love Boat on Saturday night. Fantasy Island was an allegory for LSD therapy..
Some you might not have got here: SCTV, a Canadian comedy show (and stand up group) that started more than a few careers to the big time. Beachcombers. King of Kensington, Kids in the Hall.

We cruised on Pacific Princess (the Love Boat) in the 90’s. It was sold off to the Far East a few years later. Great little ship with just 700 ish passengers. Wall to wall Love Boat episodes screened on the state room TV. Our state room appeared in quite a few episodes.

The boat was eventually scrapped, with Thaksin Shinawatra of Man City fame buying the front bit (apologies to Redbeard for my nautical terminology) as the new entrance to one of his Bangkok nightclubs...Guitargeorge wrote:We cruised on Pacific Princess (the Love Boat) in the 90’s.
