Burnley wrongly denied of a legitimate goal.

Post by davemanu2000 » Sun Oct 20, 2019 7:54 pm

it is becoming repetitive .Another legitimate goal denied for the match against Leicester . Our striker had committed no fault.in yhe heat of a game both players disputing hotly for the ball .A pretext has to be devised in order not to seal the goal .So sad for football

All matches of the Premier League are reviewed on the same day the matches were played .So we do scrutinize each and every match and according to me it was a decisive goal scored a lot of tusslefrom the part of Leicester defender .

I do wonder if the emotion surrounding the game played a part in this decision. The home fixture and remembering the death of the owner in such a fashion could have swayed the decision makers to 'reward' Leicester and enjoy the celebration of 'no goal.' By any reasonable yardstick it was a perverse decision. No mention of goal line technology being used. It looked to me as though the ball may have crossed the line before the issue of a 'foul or not' was arrived at.

Even if he had stayed on his feet, there was no way he was going to prevent the ball going over the line. A very poor decision!

if Evans had been the striker trying to get to the ball to out it in and had been tripped in the act of doing so, accidentally or not, we would have demanded a penalty. My problem is that in the context of the other decisions this weekend ie the foul on Origi being ignored by var and the outrageous decision not to give Watford a penalty-why was this decision overturned when the goal had been given?
