Lower league talent
has anyone in the lower leagues caught your eyes this season?
Given our current frailties with injuries, would any of the below be viable options for the clarets in January.
Sammy Ameobi - some may laugh but he has been quite impressive for Forest this season. He would give us a different dimension. Power, Pace and can play in a number of positions.
Lolley - reminds me of Gudmunsson. Wand of a left foot and slightly tricky.
Phillips - he would be my number one signing this year if we could manage it.
Eze - star performer in a pretty poor squad. QPR are having a good season and he is one of the main reasons why.

These aren't cheap options anymore.
Time to develope our own, keep taking a risk on players released by the top academies.

I noticed him last season when I went to the Wednesday v QPR game. Stood out in a sea of mediocrity.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: Eze - star performer in a pretty poor squad. QPR are having a good season and he is one of the main reasons why.

Re: Lower league talent
Ameobi was dreadful away at Wigan today, I'd rather promote someone from the U23's than waste money on players like him

Wouldn’t say lower league, but I’m going to use this as a platform to bang the Jarrod Bowen (Hull) drum. How he wasn’t signed by a Premier League club in the summer is beyond me. Looks a player that could easily step up.

Why should he already be here ? How come he is still as Hull and nobody else went in for him but yet only Burnley should he be at ?
Re: Lower league talent
Because he would fit our team and price range and should have been bought 12 months ago

How he wasn't signed? Because Hull were shouting figures of £30 million and the likes.jdrobbo wrote:Wouldn’t say lower league, but I’m going to use this as a platform to bang the Jarrod Bowen (Hull) drum. Already mentioned by the OP but Joe Lolley. We should have gone in for him when he was at Terriers.
Re: Lower league talent
Yes they accepted 15 million but he got cold feet over the Sala saga

The Sala saga was “after” the transfer window had shut so that doesn’t make sense

Re: Lower league talent
Oxford United having a very good season thus far and scoring plenty of goals.
Two players regularly getting good reviews are Cameron Brannagan and Tarique Fosu.

I remember a certain period when our chief scout used to always be at Burnley games watching the game - how does that work out

Re: Lower league talent
As obvious as Bowen might be to suggest, it is a good shout....as it just so happens that right midfield is a position we should be looking to strengthen too imo. I can't say I have seen a lot of him (only the usual goal clips) but he scores goals, is a very good age and is a hard working player according to the local Hull press. And, like McNeil, he can also move inside and play in a 3.jdrobbo wrote:Wouldn’t say lower league, but I’m going to use this as a platform to bang the Jarrod Bowen (Hull) drum. Re: Lower league talent
Perry Ng from Crewe my work colleague harps on about him every week and says he has all the attributes to become a great player in the higher leagues.
Re: Lower league talent
Daniel Crowley, central midfield player at Birmingham, 22 years old and really caught my eye recently. One to watch out for.

Only league one but Peterborough's forwards are scoring a lot of goals.
Clarke-Harris at Bristol Rovers' looks decent too
