Wouldn’t it be 350 away games?

10x350 per ST = 3500

Leaves 3500 left / 10pts per away game = 350 games

Baring in mind our record in the cups, have we even had 350 away games in 10years?

I had it down at 450 for a ST. Is that wrong?

So another 100 away games/cup games.

Or 13 STs instead of 10.

Very impressive.

If it's an adult season card with 7k points on, you can get a childs ticket with it, and Visa Versa.
It's not the age bracket that counts, it's the points on it.

Unless I'm dreaming it, I seem to recall a few years back that everyone was given a bonus of 1000(?) points. Maybe first promotion season or the following relegation season???

If it was a 1000 it's the equivalent of nearly 2 years worth of points. (2 season tickets plus 30 away/cup games).

They have had a few bonus points given out.

I wasn't very happy with the 50 points they gave out for the Home Olympiacos game if you loaded it onto your ST instead of getting a paper ticket.
I was in Athens for a week and straight to Fulham for my 20 points at a huge cost.

I should of stayed home and spent a tenner on the home game.

He has had a season ticket since he was 6 years old.
His first away game was in 2008, Chelsea League Cup which we won on penalties.
He has now seen the Clarets play at over 50 different grounds.

Also bear in mind that a few years ago supporters were given bonus loyalty points, on more than one occasion if my memory serves me correctly. I think that was when we were in the Championship?

The lad is football daft, a Claret through and through. He has only missed 1 away game in the last 12 months.

I think tickets became available on the day at Aberdeen because of the lorry crashing into the M6 bridge.
I don't know how the club got information they could sell the tickets though, maybe players families or friends not risking the travel delays.

Oh I'm not suggesting anything untoward, like you say there could have been collection points for supporters clubs, family and friends, or even staff, that couldn't make it on the day, so rather than ho to waste got the word out.

Was a great day in the city for those without tickets, and the couple of lads I knew who got lucky were over the moon they got a chance.
Better than them going to waste.

I travelled up to Aberdeen without a ticket and managed to get one from the club. I assumed it was a complimentary that was set aside for players/staff but not taken. One of my favourite ever away days is that along with Olympiakos, can only hope we get the chance to do it again in my lifetime.

Looking at demand for some away games, how many fans who wanted to go, didn’t get a ticket for it?
Are we talking single numbers, hundreds or what?

Restrict the number of away games - choose one from Spurs, Liverpool, City, Utd

For all the angst it causes, does anyone ever actually not get a ticket eventually?

There's probably only 1 or 2 away matches a season that usually get sold out quick. At the moment you can only accrue points on match tickets, maybe the club could introduce a system where fans could get points when buying merchandise, pies, etc by swiping your season ticket card?

They probably also enjoy going to watch the team they support rather than thinking at the start of the season I will go Sheff Utd it is close by and also Spurs as it is a new ground and wanting the ticketing system changed as the current way doesn't help them get tickets.

Almost every away game reaches general sale, most don't sell out so there are plenty of chances for people to build up their points tally.

I think you've got your post the wrong way around. The current system actually allows people to cherry pick games.

Plenty of chances for people to build up their points total is factually correct, but completely misses the point that catching up is almost impossible. Do the maths on how long a 5yr old future uber fan attending as many games as possible can catch a season ticket holder of the last 15 years who cherry picks a couple of away games a season.

You don't have to catch up though, as shown in the post I replied to 2 16 yr olds are already in the highest points category, due to attending games. If you only want to cherry pick the most attractive aways each season then yes it will take time.

How many away games do we have each season where demand is greater than the allocation ?

Whilst I definitely think more points should be awarded for away tickets I still don’t see any argument that these should take priority over season tickets.
If it takes a young person a few years to build up their loyalty points so be it - it must have taken the rest of us a few years to build these up at some point.
Also as someone has already mentioned there are few games where this is becomes an issue anyway - especially with so many people knowing other season ticket holders with enough points who may not want to go to a particular away match.
My own situation is that I have not been able to go to away matches anywhere near as much as I would like to have in the last couple of years....but after supporting the club for 45 years, having a season ticket for I don’t know how many years now and following Burnley away at more than 70 different league grounds (many several times) I wouldn’t think it to be fair for me to lose loyalty points by a scheme which penalised those not travelling to many away games in the last 2 or 3 years.

Ideal solution seems to be just reward more those people who buy away tickets. If that means more people having a lot of loyalty points then we go back to where we have often been for the big demand games - first come first served.
