It’s almost more important who the VAR official is these days.

I thought it might be him with the late kick off time, it means he can get home in reasonable time and enjoy a pint.

Out of interest who was it last weekend? You had a nightmare my son! I'm thinking it must of been Mason?

Been using the inexperienced ref on Var and senior ref in the middle a lot.martin_p wrote:It’s almost more important who the VAR official is these days.
Sky sports panel were discussing it last week saying it must be extremely difficult as a new up and coming ref to over rule the senior ref and say you're wrong.
They were discussing whether that was the reason for so little over turns.
Stating if it was the other way round it could help the senior ref being the VAR and using it as a learning curve for the newer man in the middle
People would have more patience and the VAR experience could be used to overturn any wrong decisions and explain why.
Seemed an excellent point at the time, but they continue to keep the new kids on VAR and hoping they're going to go against their senior even though they're less experienced.
Puts them in a very difficult position

He didn't think that the 'clear and obvious' contact on Hendrick at Huddersfield was a foul and therefore not a penalty. Hope I've remembered correctly .ClaretTony wrote:It’s Paul Tierney

He kept waving his arms and shouting: "No contact," when Hendrick was brought down. Had we had VAR then, they still wouldn't have given it as we've seen so far this season.Helmshore Claret wrote:He didn't think that the 'clear and obvious' contact on Hendrick at Huddersfield was a foul and therefore not a penalty.
