PNE: Pride of Lancashire

I work with a couple of Leeds fans who went to Deepdale. Told me that the Superior Ones are introduced onto the pitch as "the pride of Lancashire".

I'd almost forgotten about them to be honest but that really made me chuckle.

The only one of the big Lancashire teams never to play in the Premier League.

They helped Leeds drop more points last night so I can cut them some slack.

Anything that helps keep the deluded goons out the Premier league is good by me

We all claim to be the Pride of Lancashire, while we have a good reason now.... that does not alter the fact we were saying it when that lot down the 65 were flying high. Of course they feel themselves the pride of Lancashire, to their fans they are, and so they should.

Doesn’t mean they are.

Stop knocking Leeds - they are a massive club and far superior to us in every way (a bit like Brighton really).

One goon who runs a Rovers website (Bosscat knows who I mean) describes Rovers as the Cradle of Football (in fact I think that's the website name).

PKE fans a few weeks ago dreaming of Premier League.
I asked when their Annual Fight against Promotion would begin.

Remember listening to Radio Lancs when driving home from a game their a few seasons ago.

Their fans were calling in going mental at us claiming to be superior

Personally thought it was a very poor game last night. That said, I wish PNE well and hope they can make the promised land. They certainly have a stadium fit for purpose.
