Goals Good Enough To Win Matches, That Didn’t.
I’ll start off.
Junior Stanislas against B*stards, at the Turf. I really thought, just for a while, that our Winless Streak against them was going to be settled by an absolute screamer. It turned out a little differently.

And while we’re on a theme, Robbie Blake’s that put us one up at Ewood in our first Premier League season.claretonthecoast1882 wrote:Micah Hyde against them too in the cup

Wade Elliott’s absolute rocket at the Stadium of Light. I think it was a Friday Night TV match. We lost a close game 3:2.

Robin Van der Laan for Port Vale against us sometime in the early 90's. 30 yard screamer into the top corner. Then the game got called off for a waterlogged pitch.

I thought that was a Martin Foyle. Didn’t Van Dee Laan score the winner at Vale Park, later in the Season, effectively relegating us?claretabroad wrote:Robin Van der Laan for Port Vale against us sometime in the early 90's. 30 yard screamer into the top corner. Entirely possible as my memory plays tricks on me. I remember the goal being ridiculous though.Lord Beamish wrote:I thought that was a Martin Foyle. Didn’t Van Dee Laan score the winner at Vale Park, later in the Season, effectively relegating us?
Edit: I don't remember it being a relegation season.

I think McMinn scores in that game, too; completely weather affected. That game should never have gone ahead.claretabroad wrote:Entirely possible as my memory plays tricks on me. I remember the goal being ridiculous though.

Arfield vs Chelsea. Had Blake vs United written all over it, sadly wasn't to be.

Remember this one by a Reading player after we'd clinched promotion:
https://youtu.be/plDI9kS0RuI?t=90" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Game finished 2-2
Their fans thought the draw got them into the play offs and invaded the pitch but they'd got it wrong as other results went against them. We all had a good laugh at them after that whilst celebrating our first promotion under Dyche.

The shimmy, turn, and shot by Little in the same game wasn’t bad, either.
