Space 1999 - on Freeview Chan' 70 - 8pm each night!!!

Post by HunterST_BFC » Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:43 pm

A tad bored so I searched channels I'd never give a second thought to.
I stumbled on this.
Space 1999.
Freeview Chan' 70

Wow - this took me back! I think it was on Sundays back in the day.
It's great - or - really bad depending on your memory of it at the time. Mine are all good.

Gerry Anderson and his wife produced it (Thunderbirds etc).

So if you are feeling either bored or a bit nostalgic ... between 8&9pm any evening give it a go.
Pretty sure it would be worth recording to watch late night for those off their box also

Anyway enjoy!

You can see the strings on the moon landers. Barbara Bain and Martin landau were in the original tv series mission impossible.
Been watching both complete series on kodi. Must be sad

It was essential viewing back in the day. I recently caught the airing of the first episode of Blakes Seven on Forces TV. I decided to record the series for those long winter nights ahead.

Wobbley sets and the smoke + occasional string and handmade models etc were convincing at the time and made no difference.

Golden days.
Enjoy!

HaHa yes

But that was intentionally done as part of the comedy - brilliantly done.

I was a big fan back in the day as a little kid. I even had the spaceship as a toy. Had a detachable undercarriage with a magnetic winch that picked up barrels of toxic waste and stored them. Once saw a boxed one on an antiques show..worth a fortune!

About 18 months ago I got to watching the whole series of ‘99 on YouTube. Fabulous. Time to forget logic and physics and just enjoy stories that usually had a moral. Who could forget the wonderful (and sadly departed) Barry Morse and his philosophical meanderings? There was nearly always a summing up at the end of each episode revolving around life, the universe and everything. Simply great TV.
