Saturday's game 60th minute - Nigel Easton
Saturday's game 60th minute - Nigel Easton
I've been asked by the family to share this with you -
A lifelong Claret and season ticket holder at the Turf , Rishtoner Nigel Easton, sadly passed away suddenly last monday at the age of 60.
To celebrate his life and his love for Burnley Football Club a message and picture of him will be displayed on the big screen during the 60th minute of match against Chelsea on Saturday.
Many of Nigel's family will be in attendance, some of them travelling the length of the country and from abroad.
It would mean a lot to his family if as many of you as possible could help spread the message to others and to join us in applauding Nigel during the 60th minute.
Sadly he won't be there in person but I'm sure he will be looking down on the boys and cheering them on to 3 points!
Feel free to share this post and to tag any friends you know will be attending the game. Thank you!

Told about this by someone in my office, a friend of the family, way way too young.

There's also a scheduled minute applause on the 56th minute for Tommy Grimes who passed away on the 15th October.
A very popular man around town, who many will recognise if his name doesn't ring any bells, also a massive claret.

I knew Tommy Grimes for many years, as well as his family and friends. I went to many away games with Tommy and can confirm he was a top, top claret's fan. He had been a season ticket holder for many, many years: I will certainly miss him, a good man and a good friend.

How long before all the 90 minutes of the match are taken up by these rounds of applause.
Surely the annual “ memorial” game is the time to remember these fans.
If you really want to show respect take time out to go to the funeral rather than clapping like sheep for someone you dont know.

It's called respect. If you don't want to join in then fine but for family and friends it matters!paulatky wrote:How long before all the 90 minutes of the match are taken up by these rounds of applause.

It's social media age mawkish nonsense.
Peace be with Nigel though.
