Abersoch this week....
....Just wanted to say Hello to the many fellow Clarets I bumped into this week in Abersoch....It's great that we always wear our colours with pride! Think I met five different sets of Clarets in total!

Re: Abersoch this week....
A great holiday place, Abersoch. Have stayed there or visited half a dozen times since the unforgettable first sun-soaked occasions back in the late seventies; camping out in the Warren with several mates. Glad to hear, Stuffy, that many fellow-Clarets have since discovered the place!
Re: Abersoch this week....
Agreed, great place. Few years ago met Anthony Hopkins in Indian restaurant just north of Abersoch. I asked him if he was a Clarets supporter.........don't think he knew what I meant!!

Re: Abersoch this week....
Perhaps some of the ones you met were Anglesey Clarets, Stuffy? - Though of course they might not have had Lancashire accents...

Re: Abersoch this week....
We originally visited The Warren back in the seventies Redbeard but it is out of our price range these days - seaview chalets start at £550k. Michael Owen apparently has a place there. We stayed near the harbour across the road from a place apparently owned by Daniel Craig

Gorgeous yesterday Bab2. Went to Porth Ceiriad, Abersoch Beach and had a couple of pints at the Ty Coch on Porthdinllaen beach

Re: Abersoch this week....
I mean the real Warren, Stuffy; not the hotel/chalet thingy. When I say 'camped out', I mean camped out!
Look - this coincidentally is from a book I'm presently writing:
'...in under an hour of arrival at the village outskirts, as the unburdened bikes rested in a quiet lay-by beside the coast road, our two small tents faced each other across a tiny clearing inside the ‘Warren’ - a maze of tall ferns and other greenery on dunes inland of the main beach - and with our gear stowed away the kettle boiled merrily over a little campfire in the central ‘lounge area’.
The balance of seven days of glorious sunshine then was spent idling at camp or on the sands; swimming in the sea; walking clifftop paths, exploring beachside rock formations or dining out on the basic but well-cooked fare on offer at the cheap beach café. And all the while ogling and occasionally trying to chat up attractive bikini-clad females.'

Re: Abersoch this week....
Stayed there for two weeks in the early eighties, at 19, when dating the daughter of a rather " well off " family. Fixed caravan in those days, her Mum & Dad visited on the middle weekend, which temporarily curtailed our nocturnal activities. Glorious weather, and happy memories of the Yacht Club and the " White House " Hotel ....

Re: Abersoch this week....
Abersoch has now become the Sandbanks of North Wales, property very expensive, not much under half a million anymore.
