Re: Take that Macron.
As I posted a while back with regard to hapless Horwich and their Macron stadium, one anagram of Macron happens to be Nomarc.

Maybe it is we, the English, who are the Cheese-eating Surrender-monkeys, after all?

Re: Take that Macron.
Cheddar the best cheese? Presumably the judges were lacking taste buds.

Snotty French cheeses have never come close to English cheese.

Re: Take that Macron.
If your experience is so narrow or your palate so unsophisticated that you just regard all "cheddar" as one because you've only ever had it from Asda, that might be a reasonable remark. There are many fantastic cheeses of very different tastes and a really good Cheddar us one of them.martin_p wrote:Cheddar the best cheese? Presumably the judges were lacking taste buds.
Re: Take that Macron.
I’ve had plenty of different cheddars, none of them would come close to a good Brie or some blue cheese. I didn’t really expect to be pilloried for not liking the same cheese as you!thatdberight wrote:If your experience is so narrow or your palate so unsophisticated that you just regard all "cheddar" as one because you've only ever had it from Asda, that might be a reasonable remark. Re: Take that Macron.
You having pilloried the judges, I'm not sure you could complain but I wasn't pillorying you; I meant "you" in the sense of "anyone" rather than you in particular. I haven't tasted the specific cheeses in question and wouldn't say cheddars in general are my favourite cheese - but a sharp, fresh cheddar is a wonderful food. It is diminished somewhat by just how much generic and not outstanding cheddar we eat - that's all I was saying.martin_p wrote:I’ve had plenty of different cheddars, none of them would come close to a good Brie or some blue cheese.
