Tarkowski for England

Post by Herts Clarets » Sat Oct 26, 2019 6:17 pm

And tonight we are seeing why Southgate prefers Keane, Mings etc over Tarks. Slack and tfe second individual error to cost us a goal.

Keane and Mings are more error prone than Tarkowski.

And why we don’t start with an England back four / five.

Tarks did make a couple of sloppy passes, but his defensive work was solid again, far better than Mings IMO. Our problem today was our wingbacks. All four of their goals came via the wingers.

Nowhere near international standard based upon on tonight's performance.

Jesus, some of you lot need to get a grip.

Despite him being fantastic every game so far, you decide to dedicate a thread to his first average performance of the season and you're calling for his head. Odd.

Tarks had a good footballing game. A couple of misplaced passes, one of which cost us a goal. Wasn’t dominant but played well. A strange sort of game, similar in some ways to the Liverpool game. We had a strong first 20 minutes, but then gave possession away cheaply. Looked to have regained control of the situation but Pulisic somehow threaded his shot through a forest of legs. Then Tarks made his error which resulted in a goal, even then it needed a deflection off Ben to beat Nick in goal. But we kept playing good football when in possession and finished stronger than we did against Liverpool. Had our shooting been better when we dominated in the early part of the game, there might have been a better result. Nearly everything Chelsea tried, came off, they are in great form at the moment, as are Leicester. 3 points next week.

Tarks played well and showed why Donkey Tammy should never play for England hes a media pick by journos who write up talentless no marks
One error caused by Seans nonsense tactic of playing across the back four instead of quickly out to runners as Chelsea did.
We could have won this game as Chelsea have a poor defence as we showed when we attacked with pace and scored the best two goals of the game
But our errors cost and again highlighted the need for a tough tackling cm and a pacy right sided attacker

So if he plays well he should be in England team. If he has a poor game then its a disaster. Decisions are made on averages you muppets ( not all you posters, just the obvious intelligently challenged ones)
the biggest problem we have week after week is Lowton and Hendrick often fills his position whilst Lowton is totally out of position.
We desperately need a quality right back. He just cannot be trusted. If we got a quality right back then our back line would be very difficult to crack.

My England team would be far different to Mr Southgate's.
Starting with the number 1.

How can you base the quality of one player on that? How is that actually possibly?

Strange post to be honest given that Keane & Mings have made far more errors than Tarkowski this season. Not sure why one mistake in one match should be the reason why a player is not being selected. Until Saturday's game, Tarkowski has been absolutely outstanding this season and for the life of me I don't know why he's not in that England squad.

And even in this game, which was not his best, he put a supposed England player in his pocket.

I think we saw in this game that unless our defence, incuding midfield, has enough time to get its shape, then we can easily be undone and will ship goals.
It's difficult to blame our central defenders, it's more that our system didn't work.

I agree. And if / when Hart regains his shirt here he should be back in contention.
