I think the 1 in 26 is post the Chelsea away win.
You have to bear in mind that we play 12 games a season against the top 6 and we beat Spurs last season. So since the first day win at Chelsea the previous season we have won 1 in 26...

Well why not try it like this. Second half drew 2-2 First half lost 0-2 because of two sloppy mistakes and a deflected goal

Yes, and to add to that, most people would probably consider that we were much better in the 1st half.

That's what we do because, against better teams, we are not really good enough.
Exactly. This season we have lost 4 games - against the teams in 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. What does that prove? Pretty conclusively, that we aren't yet good enough to win the league or even to get a Champions League place.
We all know that. The question is, what do we do about it? Do we throw toys out of the pram complaining that someone's not doing their job because an in-form Chelsea side beat us quite easily? Or do we shrug our shoulders and carry on, knowing that the League title is passing us by yet again?

If Wood had been playing and had Barnes's chances maybe we could have got a draw, that was the spawniest hat trick you will ever see,a mistake,a deflection and off the back off his head...spawny Tw@t..I'm not bitter onwards and upwards.

The first goal was brilliant. He got the ball following Lowton's mistake, but he had an awful lot to do.

What would sean say about the 1 in 26 stat?
Makes it more likely we will beat the next one!

The statistic is not a farce. It proved we are making good chances, much better than in previous seasons, we are scoring more goals because of it and, unfortunately, in games against the better sides they are being ruthless with half chances.....

Not really. It shows that we had the two best chances of the game and if Barnes had put either of them away the result could have been different.
It doesn't really make allowances for individual errors like the ones leading to the first two Chelsea goals, so it has its flaws, but on the other hand those individual errors aren't symptomatic of a team's general play so it's probably right not to read too much into them.

I'm not sure I really trust your analysis of a match when:
1) You don't know the final score
2) You think another goal doesn't matter, and,
3) You don't think it matters how well we played

OK not our best defensive performance but I think we didn't have much luck. Perhaps as well as defence we should look at missed chances in the first half, one from Ben Mees superb header across goal. Chelsea have very good technical players and when their chances to score came they took them. We didn't. Put it behind us and get something next week.

I'd normally be ****** off, 4-0 down, but I enjoyed most of yesterday. We were second best to a very good team, but we didn't disgrace ourselves despite what the scoreline was. If Ash had buried one of his chances, especially the first half header, or if Lowts and Tarks hadn't screwed up, or if Jay had buried the chance when Timori got in a great tackle, the game for the most part was a good game. I never saw anything yesterday that had me worried for the future, it's got to be about performance, and bar a couple of blips, the performance had a lot of promise.
