Changes for next week?
Time for the Pieters experiment to end for me, Taylor is significantly better. Lowton is looking a shadow of himself the last few weeks too, and can’t doubt the impact Brady had when he came on.
Taylor for Pieters
Bardsley for Lowton
Brady for Cork (Hendrick in the middle)
No doubt a lot of people have different ideas of what they’d like to see which would be interesting to look at.

Re: Changes for next week?
Cork was one of our better players today. Westwood drops out before Cork for me.
Wood back in for Jay if he’s fit and Taylor just has to come in at left back now.

Thought Cork was one of our few good performers tonight, while Westwood had a quiet game

Taylor and Bardsley back in. Would replace Barnes with Wood (if fit) too

Re: Changes for next week?
Wood back with Barnes. Bardsley and Taylor in. As for Brady, I think he makes a better impact sub at the moment. Would leave Cork and Westwwod in the middle and probably give Jeff another go on the right.
Re: Changes for next week?
Barnes has been poor for me after scoring a few at the start of season. Give Wood and Jay a run of games together.
Re: Changes for next week?
How far away is Drinkwater? Hoping he can finally start to push for a place.

DON’T PANIC. Mass hysteria after a defeat. A couple of poor errors took the gloss off a decent performance. Shame Ash has gone stone cold in front of the nets. His missed sitter would have made it a totally different game.
You don’t drop players for an off day but Wood must come back in and Hendrick is more use on the right than he is in the middle.

Re: Changes for next week?
Futcher for Barnes
Super John Francis for Hendrick
Deary for Cork
Measham for Lowton
Other than that, Wood for Jay-Rod will be the only change

Don't think he's even joining in with full training yet. Won't be back anytime soon.DCWat wrote:How far away is Drinkwater? Hoping he can finally start to push for a place.

Barnes and Wood need to get back up top together.
Taylor in for Pieters
That's about it.

Re: Changes for next week?
I thought I read somewhere that Drinkwater was now training at the required level and could be in contention for next week?
A fit Wood has to be straight back in. To be fair to Barnes he's coming back from an injury and was not quite at it today but hopefully he'll be back up to the required level in time for Next week.
I think Pieters is excellent back-up but I'd be bringing Taylor back now. Lowton didn't cover himself in glory tonight but I'd stick with him as he provides us with far better attacking options down that side especially as we are without Gudmundsson.

Re: Changes for next week?
Definitely Taylor for Pieters because Charlie is the way better player. Probably Bardsley for Lowton as he didn’t cover himself in glory today and has been off the boil in recent weeks. Regarding Hendrick I would probably put him back in the middle with Corky and drop Westy (controversial I know) as Jeff is more of a threat going forward where with JC and AW neither of them make the 2nd man runs into the box and are very similar. That would mean putting Brady or Lennon in and I would lean towards Robbie. Finally even after Jays worldy I would reunite Woody and Ash if both are fit.

Re: Changes for next week?
Taylor has to play. Plus we need the two new midfielders we almost signed in August.

I must have been at a different game.Tricky Trevor wrote:DON’T PANIC. Mass hysteria after a defeat. A couple of poor errors took the gloss off a decent performance. Shame Ash has gone stone cold in front of the nets. His missed sitter would have made it a totally different game.

Re: Changes for next week?
I was surprised that Taylor didn't come back in after the Everton game. He looked much better than Pieters in that second half.

Re: Changes for next week?
I’d like Taylor to come back in but I’ll bet you anything you like that he sticks with Pieters.

I didn’t rate Cork today. Thought he was well off the pace. I’d have swapped Hendrick and Cork at ht and brought Brady on. Just to try something different

Re: Changes for next week?
Hart in for Pope for me
Re: Changes for next week?
I think changes should be made but not sure how many Dyche will make. Bardsley to RB Taylor to LB and possibly Hendrick in the middle with Westwood where he has looked very good. I’m not seeing it with Cork. Need Wood back with Barnes. When one is off it the other is usually on it but it was unusually poor from Barnes today.

It's a shame that he didn't play Hart today, then we could have blamed him for all 4 goals and a heavy defeat, rather than Lowton and Tarkowski.Steve1956 wrote:Hart in for Pope for me

Re: Changes for next week?
I didn't realise that Hart actually needed to play to be at fault; I'm sure that for some his negative waves emanating from the bench are enough to lay the blame at his door.nil_desperandum wrote:It's a shame that he didn't play Hart today, then we could have blamed him for all 4 goals and a heavy defeat, rather than Lowton and Tarkowski.

Only change for me would be Wood back if fit.
Who for is debatable, but as its Sheff Utd I'd start with Barnes ahead of Jay. Horses for courses.

Felt sorry for Hendrick should of kept his place in midfield, didn't think Cork had a bad game just looked weak.

Re: Changes for next week?
Pieters reads the game well but should have been subbed at half time when we need Charlie to drive at their week right side
Mat Vydra should have started as Ash Barnes wasn't fot.
Matt Lowton played well after his howler
Jay had a good game and scored the goal of the game
