You can kind of guess which ref we're getting by who we're playing. Though I'm a little surprised it's not Tierney.
Re: Referee confirmed for Sheffield United game
It’s got to a stage where the VAR ref is more important than the match ref. CT. Perhaps you should start to list them in that order haha

Hooper has always seemed OK for me. Usually doing Championship mind.

Does that not illustrate how difficult the job is?Vegas Claret wrote:other than a couple all the refs are absolute gash

Mason, Moss and Hopper all in succession away.
All massive Homer's, they'll probably wheel out Jones for the next one...
Having a bit of a bad run of late.
Let's hope Taylor, Marriner and Atkinson have our next 3 as they're all a realistic chance of points.

Though retired, Jones is no doubt still fitter than Moss and Hooper, and more fit to referee than Mason.MACCA wrote:Mason, Moss and Hopper all in succession away.

Probably.nil_desperandum wrote:Though retired, Jones is no doubt still fitter than Moss and Hooper, and more fit to referee than Mason.
He was a well known homer, but least he seemed to get better and better the more experienced he got, to the point I was happy to see him in the middle.
Not like some still around these days, they seem to have been poor to very poor for approaching a decade.

Re: Referee confirmed for Sheffield United game
yeah possibly, but it also indicates that having people who have never played the game and who are unfit could be a problem tooUpTheClaretsFCBK wrote:Does that not illustrate how difficult the job is?

Listening to the majority of pundits, who have played the game, doesn't fill me with any confidence that they could do as good a job as those who are doing it!Vegas Claret wrote:yeah possibly, but it also indicates that having people who have never played the game and who are unfit could be a problem too

Re: Referee confirmed for Sheffield United game
I would have always been happy to have Jones in half of our games in a season provided it was all the home games.nil_desperandum wrote:Though retired, Jones is no doubt still fitter than Moss and Hooper, and more fit to referee than Mason.

Re: Referee confirmed for Sheffield United game
I think they could as the VAR ref, too many soft decisions at the moment imhoAshingtonclaret46 wrote:Listening to the majority of pundits, who have played the game, doesn't fill me with any confidence that they could do as good a job as those who are doing it!
