Under normal circumstances then yes. These aren't. He has been rounded up on for his beliefs, belittled and been told he is wrong for quite some time now. Condescension ruled. He is just giving it back when he is proven to have the peoples opinion. Let him have his moment. The main culprit has yet to show his face however and we all know how much he refuses to admit he is ever wrong. His ego won't let him.
Wasn't aimed at anyone in particular but just an observation that sprung to mind looking around all social media sites this morning.

Personally I didn't see it as a tribal game about one side winning and one side losing, politics and society isn't like that for me. I voted how I did because I thought thats how we all would win. The majority disagreed with me but if they are right we are all winners so all this winners and losers stuff just seems a bit of a sad reflection on the society I live in.

I realise the other side would have been equally guilty had the vote gone the other way but to me that would have been no better. Worth remembering we are all in this society together and should be wanting the best for everyone

This is why you get `dogs abuse`, your inability to engage in a normal conversation. You’ve said will I admit you were right and I was wrong and I’ve asked the perfectly reasonable question ‘right about what exactly’. I’m not sure why you won’t answer it. Tell me what I’m in denial about and I can deny it!
After

1 Eu parliamentary election

1 referendum.

2 general elections

After 3 and a half years.

Who won the arguement Marty?

But it makes history !

And you sunshine, will have been shown to be on the wrong and losing side !

My apologies. I was assuming it was knowing what people really wanted, his finger on the pulse, laughing at remainers claiming people had changed their minds etc. That sort of stuff. If it goes deeper then fair enough.

Ringo is right because he, unlike anybody else in the whole country, predicted a Tory win.
Oh and he invented the phrase, "Ivory Towers".
See, he' s not a nut job at all.

Dont fall for the BS. It goes no deeper than certain posters admitting they lost. Nothing more superficial than that.

I think you are missing something if you think that is why he has been "rounded up on".
The way he is acting now is no surprise and its why he will be despised by most people on this board irrespective of the result.

There are plenty of people who articulated their argument on this board in a reasonable manner who this morning will be happy with the result. Did other posters belittle them.

Its not a case of right or wrong on the election results or Brexit - if you wanted Labour to win or if you want to remain it does not mean you were "wrong". Most people with a modicum of intelligence knew there was very little chance of Labour winning - does not mean you cannot support them or put forward a case for why.

As has been proven on these threads for the last 3 years you can still talk utter shite, lie and be completely wrong about many many things whichever side of the fence you were sat on.

Think its about time we closed all the political threads and got back to what this message board was set up for.

Well again, you haven’t actually elaborated what the argument is, but if you mean ‘should we leave the EU’ then that argument is only settled when we see the impact. Clearly more people think we should leave than don’t, but that doesn’t change my opinion and why should it? As I’ve said many times before I seriously hope I’m wrong about the impact but at this moment in time nothing has changed to lead me to believe I am.

Well again, I’ve been consistent in thinking that leave would happen since the referendum result despite thinking it’s a bad idea. I still think it’s a bad idea. It’ll happen at the end of January and a trade deal at some point beyond that. Only after that has happened will we know whether we should have left or not. As I’ve also repeatedly said I really hope wrong because being right won’t insulate me from the impact.

You’re confusing two arguments. Are we leaving the EU? Yes (that argument ended in June 2016). Should we leave the EU? That argument continues and can only be resolved (if ever) when we find out what leaving brings.

Anyway I’m answering all your questions but you still haven’t answered ‘right about what exactly?’

Fair do’s to keeping on with blaming anyone but Corbyn. Seen it loads this morning.

Plus plenty spewing hatred at ‘new’ Tory voters (not me). Well, those are the people you need to make friends with and convince if you ever want to be anything other than a fringe, protest party wailing about ‘mainstream media’.
I didn’t say it wasn’t Corbyn’s fault. I’m talking about the next Labour leader and what they’ll have to face from the press. If I’m wrong on this you could share a link from the sun or Mail in which they report on Corbyn without bias.

I'm confusing nothing Marty

Youre the one confusing two separate things.

The first is attempting to appear rational, considered and high minded , while really concealing your unwillingness to answer a straight forward question.

The second is , answering a straight forward question!!!

Because he is a terrorist loving, anti semitic, commie.
It didnt matter that he spoke of helping the needy, or the homeless. They say Hitler was a good artist, it didn't make him a good person. Nothing of Corbyn's waffle could detract from what he has said and stood for, for the last 40 years. So hardly media bias.

You know theres such a thing as a bad winner as well Ringo. No one would deny you your little moment of glory but you had the chance to be the bigger man today and you've failed miserably.
After the dog's abuse he's got over the last couple of years, he deserves to rub people's sanctimonious faces in it, to be honest.

I wouldn't be too sure about that.
He doesn't like Johnson's deal, and if (as is being suggested) Johnson now goes for the softest of brexits, (once thy get into trade talks), then Farage and the ERG will no doubt start making waves.

Still waiting?

Every single economic study into the potential effect of Brexit on the UK economy shows that we are much better off in the European Union. Many of these predict deep recession after Brexit.

The amount of food given out by Food Banks distributed to people since the referendum result has increased by circa 40%. The whole country may not be on its knees, but millions of people are!
Food banks . What a silly thing to base the condition of the country on.

With inside information from somebody who helps at a local food bank I can tell you that most of the people using them are doing so because they spent their benefit money on cigarettes, booze and drugs. It's a shame for the 1% who actually need them that they are abused by dossers.

They can make all the waves they want, Johnson has a majority of 80 the ERG have been neutered!

There are plenty of people who articulated their argument on this board in a reasonable manner who this morning will be happy with the result. Did other posters belittle them.
Yes, actually. You're kidding yourself if you think it was just about Ringo. There is a small clique on here who aggressively attack anyone who doesn't worship ultra-leftism. Most people are alright, but particular contributors (and we all know who they are) have been behaving dreadfully and fully deserve to suffer through Ringo's moment in the sun.

I don't agree with a significant aspect of Ringo's politics, by the way. But I am enjoying the schadenfreude.

Well yes, (probably), but that's why I said that I'm not sure that it will see the end of Farage. His Brexit Party will make a lot of noise if it appears that we're heading towards a Norway type deal, (even though he was advocating it in 2016).

I know Ringo can be abrasive, I can understand some people finding him annoying, but does anyone actually despise him on here?

He’ll shout a bit as usual, but with no elections coming up and a big majority in Parliament (and his MEPs about to lose their jobs) that’s all it’ll be. The media will soon start to ignore him as any influence he had has gone.

It’s all an act anyway. He gets what he invites and, I suspect, enjoys the attention. I can’t despise a made up persona. If he’s like he is on here in real life I suspect grief on a message board are the least of his problems!

Nah, he's just an annoyance and a comedy character which he loves to play up to. (he plays the part well to be fair)

The bit I cant get my head round are all the people on here who see him as some kind of victim who has been bullied. Only thing I can think of is they've spent too long in their safe spaces recently

Probably when he threatened to hunt me down and then chickened out when he realised what he was suggesting ie he'd get a bloody good hiding. I saw the funny side of it, though, as I do with most of his stuff. He's daft as a brush but harmless enough.

How can anybody who has been a life long Labour supporter come across as such a right wing reactionary Tory on almost every thread to which you contribute?
I wasn't alone on this one . I may one day come back to labour when they are once again the people's party. With the right man and the right policies they wouldn't have been cast into oblivion last night. Labour were hijacked by extremists like some of the supporters on this board.

Some Labour MP's need to wake up. Still giving interviews today supporting Corbyn policies and beliefs. What they actually need is a clean slate reshuffle right through the party and hope the Conservatives muck things up.

My own family are unhappy with my switch as they are NHS staff. They unfortunately do not see the bigger picture and couldn't see past the Labour promises.

His mission is finally complete and he has "half a loaf" in his words...he is happy. His mission in this election was to take Labour votes..in that he was successful and he helped the tories. I am sure he would have loved to have had an MP or two. That was unlikely but he stopped the prospect of a second referendum.

Now Edward, I realise that today was always going to be a difficult for you. Especially given your , "easily excitable" nature, shall we say!!

But rewriting history should be below, even , you!

As I explained to you at the time. You seem to be very very angry by what I said. (Since then I now realise that's par for the course for anybody who you disagree with!) So I suggested that when its convenient, for me, I'll introduce myself to you, so you can get , whatever it is that bothers you about me off your chest!

You didn't claim to be ready to "give me a bloody good hiding" at the time. This is news to me! Seem to remember you not wanting to have your "half time bovril ruined " and not being able to pinpoint which area of the ground you'd be in as you have access to tickets in all the stands.

I mentioned West Ham away was on the horizon at the time and you kindly explained you wouldn't be in the main concourse with the rest of us, as youd got some sponsors lounge tickets. Again no threats of this "bloody good hiding" Edward.

Anyway, I suppose given your understandable upset today, I guess its clouded your recollection of past events.

Talking of events and more recent ones.

The election result - my side won!

Hopefully bump into you the other side of leaving the EU sometime eh!?

Try and keep it together for thr rest of the day old boy eh!?

;)
