Granit Xhaka - Would you have him at the Turf?

I'd love to see it, frankly. I think with his passion he'd fit right in

If those southern toffy nosed softies have made the lad cry then I can’t see him lasting longer than 2 minutes with some proper northern dogs abuse and several hundred bob lord season ticket holders threatening to throw their flasks at him

I can't see him coming here. Apart from the fact that we couldn't possibly afford him Dyche wouldn't have him because he plays for Arsenal so is therefore by default a cheat.

It's certainly a position that needs improving. We can't stick with Cork and Westwood forever, as much as it seems Dyche wants to.

Above that, no.

Could be a while before he's available. Arsenal have offered him counselling to help him get over the trauma he's suffered.

He was belting at BMG.

He’s a top midfielder, or would be, if he wasn’t at Arsenal.

Toxic club and fans. Hounded our their greatest manager who revolutionised English football and brought them unprecedented success.

I don’t think there is a fan base that whine and b*tch as much when they don’t get their own way.

Would easily be the best midfielder we have had. Therefore theres as much chance as us signing Kaka.

This. Been to several gladbach games. Including one derby with Koln where he absolutely dominated the game.

Was awful when he first went to Arsenal but has improved - mobile and versatile enough but gives away far too many free kicks.

Love the idea that someone with over 100 appearances in the Bundelisga and a similar number of games for Arsenal plus capped at every level for Switzerland at the age of 27 is a NO for us.

It is no wonder some struggle so badly coping through every transfer window

I would sooner have somebody like Danny Drinkwater, who is totally out of favour at Chelsea. He would walk straight into our starting eleven.

Thought he was excellent playing for Switzerland v ROI the other week if he played with that desire each week I would have him in a shot.

As a poster above stated Arsenal fans are toxic and deserve all they get, if you ever get the chance to watch Arsenal Fan TV you get it in spades one last week was calling Emery to get longer and then this week wanting rid.

His drunken escapade has ruled him out for me as a permanent signing. He had a golden opportunity to get his career back on track with us and while a couple of drinks to relax is fine getting completely **** faced to the point that his awareness is on the back shelf isn't ok. Especially when he was in full training and supposedly available for the u23's.

Despite the promises that his reckless drinking days are over I think it's only a matter of time before he invites the partying lifestyle back with open arms. Habbits of a lifetime are hard to break.

I could see us extending his loan if we have no other options lined up for the next window, but I wouldn't like to see us buy him with an expensive "Golden Handshake" transfer fee. Paying a substantial sum to cover the difference in his wages at Chelsea for the next 2 years in comparision to what he would get here, plus the possibility of a transfer fee, seems like a huge risk at the moment.

What we need are younger players that could have a long term future at the club and command a profitable resale value if they leave.

If this article is correct we are sniffing around Alex Kral at the moment.

https://www.lancs.live/sport/football/f ... n-17170236" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Good player, high profile and visibility after the England match, but I would say there is little chance of them selling him in the next window or even next Summer. If they did they would no doubt want far more than the €12m they paid for him in the last window and we would experience heavy competition for his signature. If the article has any merit, and we do have a genuine interest, it could be another wild goose chase after a player we have no hope of signing.

I think domestic midfield targets will be thin on the ground in the upcoming window. The most obvious candidates from the Championship are all in teams that are actively vying for promotion, which means they are unlikely to move if things stay the same with the top six.

Top of my "hope we are looking at" midfield list is Viktor Kovalenko. Out of contract in 2020 and Shakhtar Donetsk have just enough options in their midfield to facilitate his departure in the Winter window.

Kovalenko is a hard working creative midfield engine who can chip in with a few goals and doesn't shirk away from his defensive duties, although he could improve a bit in that regard. You won't find him lighting up the youtube clip roster with dazzling individual moments of skill, because he isn't that type of player. He is a complete midfielder who is more focussed on keeping things ticking over and putting in a team performance that benefits everyone. To my mind he is exactly the type of all round box to box midfield player we need and I don't think he would break the bank.

Good player. Really good. Was great at BMG, Maybe it's an Arsenal thing... they don't seem to get the best out of Ozil.

Shall we ask them for a quote for the pair? Both are far better than Arsenal are getting out of them. Having said that, players who get out of Arsenal having not done as well as expected don't seem to step things up once they've left.

Fabregas. Van Persie. Ashley Cole. Nasri. Fabianski. Serge Gnabry. Kolo Toure. Lassana Diarra. Gael clichy. Adebayor. And even Henry would probably argue otherwise.

Dam good player i must say . I was at the Emirates on Sunday now didn't play that well but the abuse he got from the fans was way over the top when he came off . Talk about fans coming close to blows over this in the stands as i said to a friend next to me " you wouldn't see this at the Turf " .

I read in the paper I’m not sure if it’s true, after the equaliser when being subbed he was strolling off the pitch very slowly when the sense of urgency was to get the winner & that’s what sparked it, overall I don’t think emery is getting a tune out of them, tonight their seem to be holding their own in a tough game though, despite the defeat on pens.

His time at the Emirates is drawing to a close https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/50354467

Whether he's the answer to our CM dilemma IDK,and wages would probably be out of our budget as well.

But clearly the CM area desperately needs strengthening,DD has thus far proved a costly gamble, and contributed zilch.

He's a nasty piece of work and a red card just waiting to happen most games, but then again we all said the same about Joey B. So yep, I'd definitely have him (for the right dosh) and I believe he'd be excellent and an upgrade in our midfield under SD's fatherly tutelage.

You do know what comes after the flasks ? The tartan blankets ! And god forbid any man who insists on standing his ground after that...I will quote the Old Testament for the doubters .

“ once the storm of tartan has subsided ,the power of the Lord (Bob?) shall rain down a fearful torrent of colostomy bags ,sparing neither man nor beast , resisters will be vanquished for all eternity”

We’ll see what Granit’s made of for sure
