Be lucky if he gets on the bench next week, if he does he'll be lucky to get a 20 minute cameo near the end.

It's just not the Sean Dyche way

This has certainly carried on for far too long and I was thinking earlier whether we should have fined him wages, if that was possible with the loan contract. But then it might do us a favour by just sticking by him, accepting he's a pillock, putting an arm around him and doing what SD did with Barton and let him respect SD and stick with us. That's the only good way out of this.

Did you see his cameo in the cup Frank, that was before some thug in a pub had tried to break his ankles.......he's a lost case,Chelsea paid a fortune for him and he's on loan at Burnley I think that tells you all you need to know about Drinkwater.

Won’t be fit enough. Pinning hopes on him is desperation stuff. He looked poor in his league cup appearance and he’s probably gone backwards since with his self inflicted injuries.

It says he's not good enough for Chelsea. If you think that's a lost case whilst appreciating their midfield then fair enough.

Chelsea paying a fortune and him being here on loan tells me nothing, only that he's not good enough to get into a Chelsea midfield. Chelsea **** money like it's nothing.

Doesn't sound like he'll be in contention until the end of November. Would be amazed if he makes the bench next weekend

Someone on here said his injuries were a freak nightclub incident  I suppose hitting on someone else's woman by a freak in a night club was an incident. :D

Another player on a downward trajectory (Crouch, Lennon, Walters...). Don’t need lottery numbers as it’s blindingly obvious.

How was Drinkwater on a downward trajectory? He's totally, totally different to Crouch, Lennon and Walters - totally different. He's 29 - still in his prime. He's at Chelsea - look at their midfield and team!

It's just chalk and cheese with regards to Crouch, Lennon and Walters who were all past their best.

And, SkiptonClaret, you've mocked somebody quoting from August 2019. That only has any merit, if we knew the nightclub incident was going to happen.

I still maintain Drinkwater at least could’ve been a good signing (if we’re all assuming he never will be) had his incident not occurred.

That being said, what was our net spend this transfer window just gone? Very low by my reckoning. Could’ve signed one first XI player permanently for me.

That might as well be 2 months.

Why though do we specialise in signing players either not fit or not good enough ? Are we trying to market ourselves as Turf turd polishes?

Options, funds and scouting, I'd say. We have fewer options as we don't find enough players and we can't offer big contracts, so we're limited.

It’s ok we’ll be fine when Defour and Brady return from injury, just like we will when Wood is back. It’s not Dyches fault the £20M he spent on 2 forwards aren’t good enough to cover for an injured Wood.

I didn’t miss that one, it was a sarcastic posted laughing at the fools always blaming injured players because the players Dyche spunked a fortune on aren’t good enough to deputise.

Complement = goes well with. Eg. "The bacon complements the fried eggs"

Compliment = to give praise. Eg. "I'd like to compliment you on your new haircut"

Erm because we have one of the smallest budgets in the league,so it’s either young championship players or older end experienced, who are out of favour.

Will continue to be that way unless we get a sugar daddy or build a 50k seater stadium and fill it every home game

Or maybe try looking in Europe instead of being obsessed with signing 30 year old British players. 25 million wasted on Gibson and Vydra who haven't even been given a chance.

They way some go on, you'd think there were plenty of clubs who haven't signed any players that are seen as a waste of money!

Some clubs have a lot more money to waste.
Some clubs have bought badly and got relegated.

We have done well to still be in the PL, but we need to address some issues before too long, and spending in excess of £10m on players not good enough to get a game is one of these issues.

7 years of Sean Dyche now and we have developed just one PL player.

Until it is beyond any doubt that this was a failed act of desperation. We aren't there yet.

DD can STILL get into this side, and if watching yesterdays game hasn't shown that, then I have no idea what will.

And even if he doesn't break into the side, maybe his presence thereabouts may inspire others to be better.

How many other clubs with a similar size scouting network to ours have been able to bring through a player as good as Dwight McNeil?
