Mods, hope this is allowed.
Hello UTC posters, I am asking for a small favour, well my daughter a small favour actually.
If you could spare just 2 minutes of your time to watch the video in the link provided I would be extremely grateful.
It may not be great for your personal taste, but have to listen for a good minute if possible.
There's a few small errors, but she only turned 9 2 days before filming/recording, and give it her best shot.
If you're feeling generous and your ears aren't on fire, if you could leave a comment and/or a thumbs up ( or a thumbs down if that's your thing ) that would be amazing.
Thanks for taking the time to read the post

Thank you for your kind words.Burnley1989 wrote:Ah that’s class Macca. I’ve a 5 year old that would love to do something like that, was it done locally?
It was done over in Manchester, I'm not 100% sure of the name as it was done in August last year, but I can find out for you if you like?
Hoping for her to do another one soon, singing/acting is something she is hoping to pursue, but it's very hard, so hoping to build up a little profile for her.
Thank you to those who have given her a thumbs up and or comment, she's nearly hit her target.
You're giving a little girl a great confidence boost to go for it!!

Innocence, unlimited, cautious belief, and unknowing charm. Lucky man.
Re: ** Big favour needed, please read **
Thank you all very much to all that took the time to watch, listen, like or comment on her video.
It will mean the world to her
She's just lacking a little confidence for castings, hopefully your kind words will help encourage her take a few more leaps.
Thank you all.
And yes she always has a very proud dad, but she thinks all dads just say that.
If I knew children were this well behaved and easy to raise I'd have had 10
Thanks again.

Great dog, very clever, good worker, very loving, however he's cost me a small fortune and already wrecked his new bedroom, and as a habit of chewing/eating everything possible.
I'm told it gets easier/better when they reach 1, here's hoping.

He's a good lad, just needs a bit more work that's all.
Should have held off on his bedroom until he'd settled in a bit more.

Re: ** Big favour needed, please read **
Hi, Macca. I really enjoyed that - she really went for it on the chorus, brilliant. She had some emotion to it, connected to the sentiment of the song and that's such a skill for someone so little. At drama school, for example, they aren't necessarily looking for how well you sing (Not saying Maisy can't sing, she can!) but more if you can understand the lyrics, the human aspect of what you're singing. I've been working as an actor for about ten years now - drama school, stage, screen, radio, UK and NYC. Know you didn't ask for advice and I'm not telling you anything you don't already know but make sure she enjoys it and has her feet on the ground a little bit. That's difficult, I know, coz we all get swept along by dreams - especially at nine - and why shouldn't we. It's a very tricky thing to make your job, and even if it is your job it's usually sporadic and relies so much on luck. A tiny, tiny, tiny few become 'famous'. (And they sometimes, usually, aren't the most talented ones!) But yeah, all that's a long way away for someone nine. She did so well with that song - good luck to her! (Check out Burnley Youth Theatre, if you haven't already.)

Yes she went there for a year or so, now she goes Valley academy, and is starting to get more confidence.
She prefers the acting /drama side if it with the costumes, make up etc ( typical girl )
Shes been part of the musical Cats over at Empire Theatre for 5 shows, and also Mama Mia the musical, and she loved it, so along as she enjoys it thsts all that matters.
It's just a hobby she enjoys doing, and we more than enjoy watching the finished product after all the hard work.

Mrs Clarets4me and I loved your daughter's video, MACCA, you should be proud !
We were only able to have one child unfortunately, and I love him dearly, but I'd have loved a daughter .... I might have let her have a boyfriend once she turned 30, I suppose !

Have you considered enrolling her to somewhere like Basics Junior Theatre?
Their productions are very professional and she will develop with them. Lots of their young performers go into have professional careers.

But shes relatively new, so her parts have been increasing over time.
She just lacks a little confidence for auditioning for bigger roles or even turning up for the castings.
She will get there, she goes to a place where she knew no one to start with, so is coming out of her shell a bit now and making friends etc. The age range is from about 4-30 years old.
Thanks all for the recommendations etc, will look into other options if she wants to increase her sessions or tey something new
