Good for him. Always liked Wallace. Hard working, technically good and delivered some vital goals from set pieces and crosses. Played a big part in that winner at Ewood!

Set up the equaliser too, and assisted the almost-carbon-copy Shackell goal in the season before.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Played a big part in that winner at Ewood!

Re: ARTICLE: Wallace training with St Mirren
Strange that he and Stanislas were often slated in here.
Re: ARTICLE: Wallace training with St Mirren
Not strange at all, quite simple. He was signed by Bison Head and used to play for PNE, that is enough for many to dislike and slate him.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Strange that he and Stanislas were often slated in here.

The mercurial nature of the winger and their art often makes them targets for the boo-boys.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Strange that he and Stanislas were often slated in here.

Ruined a perfectly good carpet with that comment. Just spat hot chocolate all over it.NL Claret wrote:Not strange at all, quite simple. He was signed by Bison Head and used to play for PNE, that is enough for many to dislike and slate him.

Very true, for those who saw him play, ‘Taffy’ James used to get lots of stick, despite being one of our most skilful, exciting and productive players.

Can remember vividly being stood in the Longside listening to blokes sagging Taffy off, when he was on a bad run.

Re: ARTICLE: Wallace training with St Mirren
A bit of passage-of-time making the heart grow fonder I think. A few great moments... notably that equaliser at Leicester... but a great deal of mediocrity and frustration too. Certainly doesn’t merit comparison with Leighton James or Willie Morgan. Glad he’s found a home though.
