Good news, certainly missed him. Let's hope he bags a couple against the Hammers.

He has been sorely missed.
Looks like Drinkwater still hasn't been involved in any behind closed doors games yet?

It doesn't look like we need him now. We've got Legzdins.

To think how some people slated him. Even when he was bagging.

Just a question - how much "game" time have Long, Gibson or Bardsley had in the last month yet all seem to get on the bench

Really good news.Amazing how absence, really does, make the heart grow fonder.
Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
Pleased CW is available, I thought we'd miss him but I hadn't realised just how much. I can only assume that DD isn't up to the level/standard yet required by SD.

He hasn’t, but Dyche said he needed another week’s training first.JohnDearyMe wrote:Looks like Drinkwater still hasn't been involved in any behind closed doors games yet?

Interesting. Wood has gone from being not good enough in some eyes to being our saviour. Hope he has a blinder on Saturday. We certainly need it.

great record against West Ham, perfect timing
Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
Some of our fans are morons though. For me he's clearly our best striker and biggest goal threat. If we give him the service he'll score goals.Stayingup wrote:Interesting. We have missed Wood badly. We really need midfield beefing up or options. Drinkwater might be fit for one month of his loan period if we are lucky. So far it’s been a complete waste of time and money.JohnDearyMe wrote:He has been sorely missed.

Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
Lumping it up to Barnes & Rodriguez hasn't paid off, lumping it up to Wood may have better returns.

He used to play for Leeds so it's natural for some UTC posters to dislike him.cricketfieldclarets wrote:To think how some people slated him. Even when he was bagging.

Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
Looking likely that I may have to eat my words on Saturday. The team have not been the same since his injury, is that down to Wood, I would not of said so a few weeks ago.
Lets see, I sincerely hope I am wrong.

Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
If he's fit he starts but after last week's surrender I'm more concerned about the make up of the rest of the team. Taylor in for Pieters presumably but I wouldn't like to bet on any other changes and if that's the case then some players should consider themselves fortunate whereas others will be wondering just how they are going to get a game.

I think Wood helps the rest of the team because he gives them an outletSilkyskills1 wrote:If he's fit he starts but after last week's surrender I'm more concerned about the make up of the rest of the team. Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
Would be surprised if Bardsley doesn’t come in for Lowton at right back.
Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
After reading some of Dyche's comments I've got a bad feeling he's going to stick with Pieters and Wood coming in will be the only change, hope I'm wrong.
Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
Has Peters been that bad or do you just not like him? You know that mind made up once he was signed.jrgbfc wrote:After reading some of Dyche's comments I've got a bad feeling he's going to stick with Pieters and Wood coming in will be the only change, hope I'm wrong.
Noticed on a football stats website yesterday he is ranked as our 3rd best player behind mcneil and tarky.
Anyway I've got my FFS Pieters what was Taylor got to do / play Taylor tweet ready for 2.01pm.
Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
Just think it's clear that Taylor is our best left back. Simple as that.NL Claret wrote:Has Peters been that bad or do you just not like him? You know that mind made up once he was signed.

Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
I think for most people Taylor finished last season going from strength to strength and he has essentially been dropped for Pieters. Yes, I know he had a knock for the first couple of games and Pieters did well in those games, but since then Pieters has looked a liability too often in defense.NL Claret wrote:Has Peters been that bad or do you just not like him? Re: ARTICLE: Wood ready to return
Taylor is a better left back then Pieters so should be in the team. Lowton needs dropping too although Bardsley replacing him isnt a massive plus but he's more solid. New RB is needed very soon.
